Ephesians 2:11-22
INTRODUCTION: How thrilling to be placed into the family of God through the new birth. May we examine our wonderful relationship in Christ as we study this brief exposition of Truth.
I. Remember Your Past Relationship. (vs. 11-12)
A. Saviourless "without Christ." (vs. 11-12)
B. Separated "from the commonwealth of Israel" (outside the community of God*s people according to the covenant rights). (vs. 12)
C. Strangers "from the covenant of promise." (vs. 12)
D. Suffering "enjoying no hope." (vs. 12)
E. Sinking "without God in the world." (vs. 12)
II. Rejoice in Your Present Relationship. (vs. 13-18)
A. Realizing that you have been made near by His blood. (vs. 13-14)
I. By Christ making our peace. (vs. 13-14a)
2. By Christ moving the partition. (vs. 14b)
B. Realizing that you have been made new in His body. (vs. 15.18)
1. A new righteousness. (vs. 15)
2. A new relationship. (vs. 16)
3. A new right. (vs. 17-18)
III. Recognize Your Potential Relationship. (vs. 19-22)
A. Recognize your place in God*s citizenship. (vs. 19a)
