Plan for: Thanksgiving | Advent | Christmas
God desires to produce a spiritual harvest in and through each believer, developing spiritual fruit and impacting the world around us.
Hey guys, today we're going to talk about harvest. But we're not talking about actual farming here; we're talking about the spiritual harvest in our lives. So, let's dive in!
First, let's look at Galatians 5:22-23. It says, 'the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.' These are the things that God wants to grow in our lives, and they're already inside of us because we have the Holy Spirit.
Now, I want to show you something cool. (Bring out a small plant or seed.) This little plant or seed represents the spiritual fruit that God wants to grow in our lives. Just like this plant needs water, sunlight, and good soil to grow, we need to stay connected to Jesus and walk in the power of the Holy Spirit to grow these spiritual fruits in our lives.
These are the things that God wants to grow in our lives, and they're already inside of us because we have the Holy Spirit.
So, how do we do that? Well, Galatians 6:8-10 tells us that we need to sow good things into our lives. That means we need to focus on doing good things and living the way God wants us to. If we do that, we'll reap a harvest of good spiritual fruit.
Now, let's talk about fresh fruit. In Matthew 7:16-18, Jesus says that people will recognize us by our fruit. So, if we're living the way God wants us to, people will see the good fruit in our lives and be drawn to Jesus.
But we can't do this on our own. Philippians 2:12-13 reminds us that it's God who works in us to help us live the way He wants us to. So, we need to rely on His power and not just our own efforts.
Finally, let's look at Matthew 9:35-38. Jesus tells us that there's a huge spiritual harvest out there, but not enough workers to help bring it in. That means we need to step up and be part of the team that's helping to bring people to Jesus.
So, what does all this mean for us? It means that we need to stay connected to Jesus, walk in the power of the Holy Spirit, and focus on doing good things. If we do that, we'll grow the spiritual fruit in our lives and be part of the team that's bringing in the spiritual harvest.
Let's pray together: 'God, thank you for planting the seeds of spiritual fruit in our lives. Help us to stay connected to you and walk in the power of the Holy Spirit so that we can grow these fruits and be part of the team that's bringing in the spiritual harvest. In Jesus' name, Amen.'
