Halloween, The Devils tools year around.

Folks, we live in a world today that we should sift all our children’s activities and things that they are exposed to each day as though we were looking and inspecting the candy they get on Halloween night and throw out the things that look suspicious. I know it’s hard and most of the time just impossible to watch every move and be there all the time but, we could be a little more cautious in our homes and things like TV and tell them why some things are just not good for them to watch. Be straight up with them and tell them why you think Satan is behind some things, you might be surprised just how much they do understand.

Maybe they were waiting to see if you thought it was OK. If it’s OK to the parents or even to us grandparents, then it must be OK for our kids or grand kids to watch.

Satan has many tools in this day and time to work his evil doing with.

1 Peter 5 and lets began reading in verse 1 Peter verse 6. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: 7. Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. 8. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 9. Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. 10. But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. 11. To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen

The Devil or Satan is our enemy. He is described by Peter as our adversary or the one who stands against us or opposes us. The Devil is very deceitful in his activity in dealings with mankind. He is evil and very wicked. Jesus said he was a liar and the father of lies. He is a murderer. The truth is not in him. He may only use the truth to teach a lie. There is a saying that says that Satan will use 99% truth to float one lie.

The Devil’s tool of worldliness, John describes worldliness in 1 John 2:15-17.

“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world.

There is a great difference between spirituality and worldliness.

The Association Journal in a study of more than 3,000 kids ages two to 18 presents disturbing evidence that the average U.S. child spends almost 5 1/2 hours a day either in front of the TV, the computer or the radio. “Watching TV, playing video games, listening to music, and surfing the Internet have become a full-time job for the typical American child”.

More disturbing was that the study showed parents being inattentive to their children’s’ media habits. According to USA Today, the report revealed that 61% of parents have no rules about TV viewing, even though 65% of kids age eight and up have a television in their own room. “This research should make every parent stop and think because, every day, their children are spending more time using media than they spend at school.”

Love for the world will cool your love for God and love for God will cool your love for the world.

Many who are saved have gone back out into the world because they have yielded to it’s appeal.

The material things do not last forever. The things that we hold dear like position, power, passion, possessions, and popularity are only for the moment.

The saved often get very tired in serving the Lord. The conflicts and pressures they feel are real. I’ve been there and I’m sure you have, if not you will.

When we feel exhausted and weak and powerless, we need the Lord who is our strength.

The Devil wants us to become weary in the struggle because of the weakness of the flesh.

Matthew 26:41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

Many who are saved have stopped serving the Lord because they become weary. Many who are saved have quit going to church and have gone back out into the world. The light that Jesus wants to shine brightly has become dim. When you become weary instead of adjusting your load in church work, you may decide to drop the whole load you are carrying.

You cannot try to live in both worlds. A believer cannot be happy in the world and a believer cannot be happy in the Lord’s work with the world in them.
