“GROUNDBREAKING DAY”

FBCF – 6/29/25

Jon Daniels

This day has been a long time coming!

- Letters from former pastors

How are we going to build this building?

- Not talking about how we are going to pay for it & how quickly we are going to pay it off (& we are!)…equipment is going to be used…architects & engineers & contractors & builders & electricians & plumbers & roofers…steel & concrete & bricks & electrical equipment & plumbing & AC

Talking about things that are unseen but are absolutely necessary in the building of this sanctuary & this Church FAMILY to the glory of God & for the advancement of His Kingdom.

HOW ARE WE GOING TO BUILD THIS BUILDING?

3 components of the foundation of this building:

WE ARE GOING TO BUILD IT ON THE WORD OF GOD

One thing we know for sure: Storms are going to come & beat against this building. If those storms are severe enough, the building could actually be destroyed. No guarantee against that.

Also know that storms are going to come & beat against the people who gather in that building. Difference: We have a guarantee that we CAN stand during the storm & still be standing after the storm is over.

- Matthew 7:24-27

- Not going to build it on my words or the word of any pastor who may follow me, but on THE W of G!

- Prayerwalk guide verses

WE ARE GOING TO BUILD IT ON THE GOSPEL

When this building is complete, I can promise you that, if the Lord allows me to be here, the first message that will be proclaimed from this pulpit will be the life-changing Gospel of Jesus Christ!

- 1 Corinthians 1:23 – “we preach Christ crucified”

- 1 Corinthians 2:1-5

- John 3:16

WE ARE GOING TO BUILD IT ON JESUS!

Vision Statement – “First Baptist Flora is making much of Jesus by being a people & a place of GRACE where anyone can meet Jesus & grow in their relationship with Him.”

This is why we are observing the Lord’s Supper today – it proclaims nothing else but JESUS!

If we will keep our eyes firmly fixed on the cross, there’s no way we can or will fail. There will be obstacles – already are – But no matter what those obstacles are, we cannot & must not take our eyes off the cross. If we ever do, we will stumble & fall.
