A. The GREETING of the Thessalonians (v. 1)
1. The PENMEN (v. 1a) Paul –“ little” – Acts 22:28; Silvanus (Silas) – “woodland” – Acts 15:22f.; 16:25f.; & Timothy – “Honoring God” – Acts 16:1-2; 2 Timothy 15
2. The PEOPLE (v. 1b) ekklesia – “called out ones”, church- Acts 2:47; Romans 12:5
3. The POSITION (v. 1c) Romans 8:1; 1 Corinthians 1:30; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Galatians 2:4; Ephesians 1:3; 2:13
4. The PURPOSE (v. 1d)
i. A PLEASING endowment grace, unmerited or undeserved favor (v. 1d-i) Genesis 6:8; John 1:14; 1 Corinthians 15:10
a. Needed for SALVATION Ephesians 2:5, 8-9; Romans 5:2
b. SUFFICIENT for every need. 2 Corinthians 12:9
