Summary: What you want is not always what you need

3:1 There must be a house of prayer and a hour of Prayer

Jewish Prayer 3rd Hour 9 am (Morning) 6th Hour 12 pm (Afternoon) 9th Hour 3pm (Evening)

Peter and John On there way up to Prayer and Worship not sacrifice because Christ abolished that with his sacrifice

Ps 55:17 Evening and morning and noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.

Speaking to the Elements: 1) Poverty 2) Seizures-Heart Attacks-Strokes-Depression 3) Lame-Parylizing-Crippling Mind

I was glad when they said unto me let us go into the house of the Lord

Expression of Worship – being Led By Divine Directions (Obedience)

Real worship is not about your moving as it is your responding to his mood. Responding to the mood of God Is greater worship because you have to become sensative to what he requires at that moment.

3:2 Eyes Have not seen ears have not heard what’s in store for them that love the lord – The scope of God’s blessing covers what the eye has not seen and what the ear has not heard. The storehouse of God’s will includes blessings that we have never even thought about-things that go beyond our wildest thoughts , Things that have never entered into our hearts. Lame, must arise and sieze what is left 1) Joy – use what is left 2) power – Use what is left Don’t let your circumstances abort your dreams. Never get so complacent in your situation that you don’t move

We must move away from where we first started with God

3:3 Restored Strength – Hour of Opportunity – Asked for something for his relief and support

3:4 It was customary for everyone to carry money w/ them in the temple to give to the treasury.

3:5 True need did not go unnoticed - raised expectations-Peter, instead of turning his eyes form him, as many do from objects of charity, Peter fastened his eyes upon him, that his eye might affect his heart with compassion towards him, v. 4. John did so too, for they were both guided by one and the same Spirit, and being of the same mind in this miracle; they said, Look on us. We must come to God both to attend to his word and to be appropriate to him in prayer, Our eye must ber towards the Lord (the eye of our mind). We must look up to heaven and expect to receive benefit by that which God speaks. I will direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

3:6 Stock in the Kingdom – Access Power from heaven – Heavens Grocery Store has: Healing, Love, Power, Grace - certainly there is that which we are capable of possessing which is substantially better than silver and gold; Those who are poor in the world may yet be rich, very rich, in spiritual gifts. At that authoritative command, given in the authority of the name of Christ Jesus, the lame man did that which he could never do before.

3:7 Hand Up not an Hand Out – Offered aid – availed themselves for service. When Peter took the man’s hand, immediately the feet and ankle bones of the lame man received strength which was not their own. The man leaped up, walked, putting one foot in front of the other, and accompanied the two disciples into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.

When God Commands people to repent & Believe he does not leave them alone, he extends help and aid their efforts.

When: 1) Weak 2) Needy 3) Helpless 4) Powerless God stretches out his hand (Power & Authority) to impart strength and grace.
