INTRODUCTION:

God’s blessings are meant to bring joy, fulfilment, and satisfaction to His children. It is not enough to be blessed with riches, wealth, or honour if you do not have the grace to enjoy them. Ecclesiastes 6:2 reveals a painful reality: a man may have everything his heart desires but lack the power to partake in it. This is an evil that must not be our portion.

Many people today work hard, achieve much, and accumulate great possessions, only to watch others enjoy what they laboured for. This could be through sudden sickness, untimely death, misplaced priorities, or spiritual forces that devour blessings. It is not God’s will for us to build and not inhabit, to plant and not eat the fruit thereof.

This sermon will show you how to receive not just blessings but the power to enjoy them. Through prayer, obedience, and divine covering, you will experience the fullness of God’s blessings without regret or loss.

1. GOD DESIRES THAT YOU ENJOY HIS BLESSINGS

God does not give gifts to His children for strangers to enjoy.

a) God’s Blessings Are Meant for Your Joy (Psalm 128:2)

“You shall eat the labour of your hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.” God wants His blessings to bring happiness.

b) God Gives Power to Prosper and Enjoy (Deuteronomy 8:18)

God provides both the wealth and the grace to use it well.

c) Fulfilment Comes from God (Philippians 4:19)

Material blessings alone cannot bring contentment, God supplies true satisfaction.

d) God’s Purpose Includes Your Enjoyment (1 Timothy 6:17)

God richly provides for us to enjoy all things in His will.

Biblical Example: Abraham (Genesis 24:1) — Abraham was blessed in all things and lived to enjoy the fruit of God’s favour.

2. DANGERS OF NOT HAVING THE GRACE TO ENJOY BLESSINGS

Lacking grace to enjoy blessings turns success into sorrow.

a) Wasted Labour (Ecclesiastes 6:2)

Working without enjoying the results is vanity and an evil disease.

b) Strangers Enjoying Your Portion (Deuteronomy 28:30)

Others may take over what God intended for you if you are not spiritually covered.

c) Sudden Tragedy or Untimely Death (Psalm 91:16)

The enemy may cut lives short to prevent the enjoyment of blessings.

d) Devourers and Spiritual Attacks (Malachi 3:11)

Without God’s protection, forces may consume what you have laboured for.

Biblical Example: King Saul (1 Samuel 15:28) — Though anointed as king, his disobedience caused his kingdom to be handed to another.

3. KEYS TO ENJOYING GOD’S BLESSINGS FULLY

God gives grace, wisdom, and protection to sustain blessings.

a) Walk in Obedience to God’s Word (Deuteronomy 28:1-2)

Obedience ensures continued enjoyment of divine provision.

b) Pray for the Power to Enjoy (Ecclesiastes 6:2)

It is not enough to be blessed; pray for the grace to use and enjoy it.

c) Reject Fear and Anxiety (Philippians 4:6-7)

Fear robs joy and prevents you from enjoying blessings.

d) Honour God with Your Resources (Proverbs 3:9-10)

When you honour God, He preserves and multiplies what you have.

Biblical Example: Jabez (1 Chronicles 4:9-10) — He prayed for God’s blessing and enlargement, and God granted his request.

4. DIVINE PRESERVATION OF YOUR BLESSINGS

God protects your blessings from devourers and calamity.

a) God Shields Your Possessions (Malachi 3:11)

He rebukes the devourer for your sake.

b) God Extends Your Life to Enjoy His Favour (Psalm 91:16)

“With long life will I satisfy him, and show him my salvation.”

c) God Ensures Peace with Prosperity (Isaiah 26:3)

Blessings without peace are vanity; God gives both.

d) God Restores What Was Lost (Joel 2:25)

Even if the enemy has stolen your portion, God can restore it.

Biblical Example: Hezekiah (Isaiah 38:5-6) — God extended his life and preserved Jerusalem from calamity.

5. BENEFITS OF ENJOYING GOD’S BLESSINGS

Enjoyed blessings glorify God and bless others.

a) Joy and Fulfilment (Psalm 16:11)

God’s blessings fill your life with gladness and purpose.

b) Testimony to God’s Goodness (Matthew 5:16)

Your blessings become a witness of God’s favour.

c) Generational Impact (Proverbs 13:22)

A good man leaves an inheritance for his children’s children.

d) Peace and Stability (Philippians 4:7)

God’s peace guards your heart as you enjoy His provision.

Biblical Example: Solomon (1 Kings 4:20-21) — He enjoyed peace, prosperity, and honour in his days.
