Plan for: Thanksgiving | Advent | Christmas
Explores our divine design, purpose, and potential as fearlessly and wonderfully made creations of God, encouraging us to live in awareness of His love.
Greetings, dear friends. It is a joy to gather with you once again in the presence of our loving God, ready to immerse ourselves in His Word and His wisdom. We are here, not by coincidence, but by divine appointment. Not to merely pass the time, but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. Not to be spectators, but participants in the grand narrative of God's love and grace.
Today, we turn to Psalm 139:14, a verse that beautifully captures the essence of our existence:
"I praise you because I am fearlessly and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well."
The psalmist's words echo with gratitude and awe, a testament to the profound understanding of our creation and existence. It is a recognition of the intricate design, the careful crafting, and the intentional shaping that has gone into each one of us. We are not random creations, but fearlessly and wonderfully made by a meticulous and loving Creator.
The Spirit-filled life is not a special, deluxe edition of Christianity. It is part and parcel of the total plan of God for His people." Being changed and filled with the Spirit is what I want to discuss today.
Our sermon is divided into three main points: "Good Bones," "Fixer to Fabulous," and "Love It or List It." Each point is a step towards understanding our divine design, our purpose, and our potential. Each point is a reminder of the love and grace that has been bestowed upon us. Each point is an invitation to appreciate, embrace, and embody the fearlessly and wonderfully made beings that we are. Also I have to point out that each one correlates with a very entertaining HGTV show.
Let us now bow our heads in prayer.
Dear Heavenly Father, we thank you for gathering us here today. We thank you for your Word, which is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path. We thank you for making us fearlessly and wonderfully. We ask you to open our hearts and minds to understand and appreciate the depth of your love and the greatness of your works. Let your Holy Spirit guide us as we delve into your Word and strive to live according to your will. We ask all these in the mighty name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
Let’s get started!
We find ourselves in the midst of a beautiful truth, a truth that resonates with the very core of our being. We are not accidents, not mere products of chance. We are born from good bones, crafted with divine precision and intentionality. This is the foundation of our existence, the bedrock of our identity.
Our Creator: In His infinite wisdom and love, he has fashioned us with good bones. These bones, they are not just physical structures that give our bodies shape and support. They are symbolic of the strength, the resilience, and the potential that God has embedded in each one of us.
Bones are the framework of our bodies: They are essential for movement and protection. They are reservoirs of minerals that our bodies need. They are the site of blood cell production. In the same way, the good bones we are born from represent the spiritual and moral framework that God has designed for us. They are essential for our growth and development. They are reservoirs of wisdom and grace that we can draw from. They are the site of our spiritual regeneration.
Now, let's take a closer look at the implications of being born from good bones.
First: Being born from good bones means we are created with purpose. God, in His infinite wisdom, has designed each one of us with a unique set of skills, talents, and abilities. He has a specific plan for our lives, a plan to prosper us and not to harm us, a plan to give us hope and a future. This purpose is not something we have to earn or achieve. It is inherent in our design, woven into the fabric of our being.
Second: Being born from good bones means we are equipped for life's challenges. Life is not always easy. We face trials and tribulations, hardships and heartaches. But the good bones we are born from provide us with the strength and resilience to navigate these challenges. They serve as a reminder that we are more than conquerors through Him who loves us.
Third: Being born from good bones means we are recipients of God's grace. Our good bones are not a result of our own efforts or achievements. They are a gift from God, a testament to His unmerited favor. We are saved by grace through faith, not by works, so that no one can boast. Our good bones are a constant reminder of this grace, a tangible evidence of God's love and mercy.
Fourth: Being born from good bones means we are called to live in alignment with our divine design. God has not just created us with good bones, He has also given us His Word and His Spirit to guide us in living according to His will. We are called to walk in the Spirit, to live out the fruits of the Spirit, to be transformed by the renewing of our minds.
As we continue to reflect on the divine craftsmanship that has shaped us, we find ourselves standing at the threshold of transformation ... View this full PRO sermon free with PRO
