Summary: How can one describe such a day? The wrongdoing of all humanity putting to and end An innocent man the son of God
Good Friday!
Jesus in my place or Jesus took our place
How can one describe such a day?
The wrongdoing of all humanity putting to and end
An innocent man the son of God
Jesus had a restless time the whole night!
1. The Last supper (its an intimate time) Mark 14:22-23
2. Garden of gethsemane (mark 14:32-42) Luke 22:44
He is sorrowful even to the point of death
3. He had to walk all the way carrying His cross (Mark15:17-20)
4. He was brought to the place called Golgotha (Mark15:22-39)
ILLUSTRATION:
One stormy night the sea was roaring up the wind, a side-wheeler steamboat was rammed by another boat. The steamboat sank just a mile offshore from the village of Winnetka, Illinois. Out of 393 passengers on board, 279 drowned.
A man named Edward Spencer after seeing the situation unfold plunged into the lake and swam to the drowning people. He towed one person to shore and went for another. In all, he brought seventeen people to safety. However, the strain on this young man caused him to collapse. The nerves in his legs were so completely destroyed that he could never walk again. He was an invalid wheel chair victim for his entire life.
On his eightieth birthday, someone asked him to relate his most vivid memory of that dreadful day. He replied, "Not one of the seventeen returned to thank me."
What was the cross considered to be?
• Just a wood
• Rejected material
• Cursed instrument
• Criminals punishment
• Death by touchier
Jesus touched many things in His ministerial Journey!
1. Matthew 8:3 Jesus Touched the leprosy immediately he was cleansed
2. Mark 8:22-25 Jesus Touched the blind man immediately his sight was restored
3. Mark 5:35-43 Jesus Touched the dead girl immediately she got up and sat on the bed.
4. Luke 7:14 Jesus Touched the coffin of a young men immediately he got up.
After all what is cross!
• Jesus a wood
• Rejected material
• Cursed instrument
• Criminals punishment
Jesus Touched the Cross. He not only touched the cross or that cursed wood or that rejected piece. But, His blood also touched that wood that rejected material. Because that blood touched what wood, that cursed instrument became the Holy symbol of Christianity.
1. THE CROSS REMINDS our SIN!
2. THE CROSS REMINDS GOD’S FORGIVENES
3. THE CROSS REMINDS GOD’S LOVE:
4. THE CROSS REMINDS OF GOD’S Grace.
If Your are blessed
