Isaiah 25: 1 – 12
Gold Medalist In Swimming
1 O LORD, You are my God. I will exalt You, I will praise Your name, for You have done wonderful things; Your counsels of old are faithfulness and truth. 2 For You have made a city a ruin, a fortified city a ruin, a palace of foreigners to be a city no more; It will never be rebuilt. 3 Therefore the strong people will glorify You; The city of the terrible nations will fear You. 4 For You have been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shade from the heat; For the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall. 5 You will reduce the noise of aliens, as heat in a dry place; as heat in the shadow of a cloud, the song of the terrible ones will be diminished. 6 And in this mountain The LORD of hosts will make for all people a feast of choice pieces, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of well-refined wines on the lees. 7 And He will destroy on this mountain the surface of the covering cast over all people, and the veil that is spread over all nations. 8 He will swallow up death forever, and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from all faces; the rebuke of His people He will take away from all the earth; For the LORD has spoken. 9 And it will be said in that day: “Behold, this is our God; we have waited for Him, and He will save us. This is the LORD; we have waited for Him; we will be glad and rejoice in His salvation.” 10 For on this mountain the hand of the LORD will rest, and Moab shall be trampled down under Him, as straw is trampled down for the refuse heap. 11 And He will spread out His hands in their midst as a swimmer reaches out to swim, and He will bring down their pride together with the trickery of their hands. 12 The fortress of the high fort of your walls He will bring down, lay low, and bring to the ground, down to the dust.
I enjoy sports. Are you aware of how they distribute the medals for winning an Olympic event? First place is gold, 2nd is silver, and 3rd place is bronze. Do you know where they got the order of metal value from? Yes, good guess – the bible. I think the best description of the significance of metal priority is the Tabernacle. The further away from the Holy of Holies the less value of metal is used. As you get closer you have silver then the most valuable is gold. Today we are going to see the One Who wins the gold medal for swimming. In truth no one can compete against Him. He Is the best, was the best, and will always be the best. He Is our God. When you win the gold we are moved to tears as the winner stands on the podium and their country’s national anthem is played. Chapter 27 is similar in that it is a song dedicated to the number One Victory of all – our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Today we are going to look at the last mini apocalypse chapter directed against our world. We will understand that the consequences upon the sinful world can only be brought about by our Supreme Ruler.

Verse 1 puts in beautiful words of just how Awesome our God really Is. Please notice the personal relationship - ‘1 O LORD, You are my God.’ Can you say the same? - “Lord, You Are my God!’ If you are reading or listening to this message and you are unsure of this essential truth, then we need to stop and deal with this eternal matter right now.
In the bible we read in Psalm 90, “The days of our lives are seventy years; And if by reason of strength they are eighty years, Yet their boast is only labor and sorrow; For it is soon cut off, and we fly away.” You know what 70 isn’t very long and then you have to meet your eternal destination. Where will it be – heaven or hell? Our Holy King, Lord, and Savior volunteered and gave His life for you and me. However you need to do something to receive God’s forgiveness.
Don’t just believe me but see what God says you have to do to be saved. We find out the way from the book of Romans chapter 10, “8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart”(that is, the word of faith which we preach): 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. 13 For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.”
