Summary: Look to the cross and live.

God’s objects of faith

1 Corinthians 2:2

For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.

Mark 15:32

Let Christ the King of Israel descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe. And they that were crucified with him reviled him.

(1) We look to the cross for our life.

John 3: 14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

We must look to the cross where our salvation comes from.

(2) Faith gazes of Jesus glorified.

Where we get our power.

Hebrews 12: 2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

(3) Faith looks for his coming.

To see the Glory he has for us.

Philippians 3: 20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:

21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

1st Corinthians 15: 23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.

(4) Faith culms our fear.

Mark 4:40

And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith

(5) Faith fills our needs knot our wants

Matthew 9:29

Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.

(6) Faith works in both when work together with Lord

Romans 1:12

That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me.

(7) Looking to the world makes our faith weak

2 Corinthians 5:7

(For we walk by faith, not by sight :)
