GOD’S FIRE, LIGHT AND POWER!

In this outline sermon we point out 3 ways the Holy Spirit wants to reveal Himself through the Church and each one of His children to the world. Fire, Light and Power does attract. Fire illuminates, warms, refines, purifies and can change material from one form to another. Think what God's fire can do.

I) FIRE ATTRACTS

Matt 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: (KJV)

1) GIVES OFF LIGHT IT SHINES IN DARKNESS.

2) Jesus told of John the Baptist whose fire of the Holy Spirit burned and gave off a shining light.

John 5:35 He was a burning and a shining light: and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light.

3) We can and should be filled with the Holy Spirit and shine for Jesus.

Matt 5:14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

II) THIS LIGHT DOES THE WORKS OF GOD, THIS LIGHT IS WHEN WE ARE FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT.

Matt 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

1) SMOKE GIVES OFF NO LIGHT, SMOKE CAN ONLY BE SEEN IN THE LIGHT.

a) Some Christians only are seen in church giving off light when they are in the light or anointing of other saints.

b) Fire illuminates, warms, refines, purifies and can change material from one form to another. Think what God's fire can do.

III) POWER IN OUR LIVES COMES WITH THE DAILY FILLING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN OUR LIVES!

Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

A) HOW DID THE EARLY CHURCH RECEIVE IT?

1) They waited upon the Lord.

Acts 2:1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. (KJV) Acts 2:2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. Acts 2:3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to

speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

2) They waited, they prayed, they received and they shared the

Gospel and power of God won the souls to Christ.

B) IS IT FOR TODAY? READ MAT 24:35, HEB 13:8!

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every

one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of

sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. (KJV)

Acts 2:39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

Luke 11:13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto

your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father

give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

REMEMBER NO GOOD THING WILL GOD WITH HOLD FROM FROM YOU!

Luke 11:10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh

findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
