Plan for: Thanksgiving | Advent | Christmas
God promises to renew our strength in times of weakness, allowing us to rise above our circumstances like eagles soaring in the sky.
Good morning, family! I’m glad to see each and every one of you here today. We are going to dive into a special verse today, Isaiah 40:31, which says, "but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." What an awesome promise, right? We've all had moments when we felt weak, overwhelmed, or just plain tired. Isn't it comforting to know that in those very moments, God promises to renew our strength? Corrie Ten Boom once said, "If you look at the world, you'll be distressed. If you look within, you'll be depressed. But if you look at God, you'll be at rest." Isn't that so true?
God's Strength in Our Situations
When we think about strength, we often think about physical power or mental toughness. But there's another kind of strength that's even more important: spiritual strength. This is the strength that comes from God, and it's the kind of strength that can carry us through the most difficult situations in life. Not like human strength: Human strength is limited and can be exhausted. But God's strength is limitless and never runs out. It's a strength that can carry us through any situation, no matter how difficult or overwhelming it may seem. It's always available to us: We don't have to earn it or work for it. It's a gift that God freely gives to us. All we have to do is ask for it. In the book of Isaiah, God promises to renew the strength of those who hope in Him. This means that when we put our trust in God, He will give us the strength we need to face whatever comes our way. It's transformative: It doesn't just help us to endure our situations; it actually changes us in the process. When we rely on God's strength, we become stronger ourselves. We develop resilience, courage, and a deeper faith. We learn to see our situations not as obstacles, but as opportunities for growth and transformation. Empowers us to do things we could never do on our own: The verse in Isaiah says that those who hope in the Lord will soar on wings like eagles. This is a powerful image of freedom, power, and transcendence. It suggests that with God's strength, we can rise above our circumstances and experience a kind of victory that's beyond our human capabilities. It's enduring: The verse in Isaiah says that those who hope in the Lord will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. This means that God's strength doesn't just help us in the moment; it sustains us over the long haul. It's a strength that doesn't fade or diminish, but keeps us going when we feel like we can't go on. How do we access this strength?: It starts with hope. Hope is not just wishful thinking; it's a confident expectation in God's promises. When we hope in the Lord, we're saying that we believe in His power, His goodness, and His faithfulness. We're saying that we trust Him to come through for us, even when our situations seem impossible. And when we put our hope in God, He promises to renew our strength.
