INTRODUCTION:
Every believer will, at one point or another, face a “Jordan” — a challenge that appears too great to cross. Jordan represents impossible situations, obstacles to divine inheritance, and boundaries between your current state and your God-ordained destiny. Yet, the God who parted the Red Sea also parted the Jordan, showing that no obstacle is too great when He goes before you.
The children of Israel had wandered in the wilderness for forty years, and now, standing before them was the Jordan River, overflowing its banks. Behind them was the wilderness, and ahead of them was the Promised Land. But before they could step into their inheritance, they had to pass through the Jordan. It seemed impossible — but with God, it became a miraculous passage.
Today, no matter the Jordan River that stands in your path — be it sickness, fear, opposition, lack, or delay — this message assures you that God will make a way. The same God who made a way for Israel will make a way for you, and you shall cross over triumphantly.
1. GOD GOES BEFORE YOU INTO YOUR JORDAN
a) God's presence leads the way (Joshua 3:3):
The Ark of the Covenant, representing God’s presence, went ahead of Israel. God never sends you into a battle alone — He leads the way.
b) God's timing is perfect (Ecclesiastes 3:1):
He brought them to Jordan at harvest time, when the waters were high, to demonstrate His power in impossible circumstances.
c) Obedience invites divine intervention (Deuteronomy 28:1-2):
As they obeyed God’s instruction to follow the Ark, He manifested His miraculous power.
d) Faith activates God's direction (Hebrews 11:6):
They had to believe and step forward even before the waters parted.
Biblical Example: Moses and the Red Sea — Just like God led Moses with a pillar of cloud and fire, He led Israel with the Ark and made a way (Exodus 14:19-22).
2. YOUR JORDAN WILL NOT STOP YOUR DESTINY
a) Obstacles are opportunities for miracles (Isaiah 43:2):
God doesn’t remove every challenge, but He shows His power through them.
b) What is too strong for you is nothing for God (Jeremiah 32:27):
He specialises in doing what men consider impossible.
c) God’s power is made perfect in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9):
Your limitations are the platform for His supernatural display.
d) The enemy's resistance is not the end of your story (Romans 8:31):
If God is for you, no river can stop your inheritance.
Biblical Example: David and Goliath — The size of Goliath was not a hindrance but a platform for David’s promotion (1 Samuel 17:45-50).
3. STEP OUT IN FAITH EVEN WHEN THE WATERS RAGE
a) The miracle happens when you move (Joshua 3:15):
The waters did not part until the priests stepped into the water.
b) Faith without action is dead (James 2:17):
You must be willing to step forward despite fear or uncertainty.
c) God honours bold obedience (Acts 5:29):
Taking bold steps in obedience invites divine help.
d) Fear paralyses, but faith empowers (2 Timothy 1:7):
God gives courage to overcome doubt and hesitation.
Biblical Example: Peter walking on water — As long as he kept his eyes on Jesus, he did the impossible (Matthew 14:28-29).
4. GOD WILL MAKE A PATH WHERE THERE IS NONE
a) He creates highways through rivers (Isaiah 43:16):
God does not need a pre-existing path; He creates one.
b) Miracles are the believer’s portion (Mark 9:23):
All things are possible for those who believe in God's Word.
c) God's power defies natural laws (Job 9:10):
He performs wonders that no man can understand.
d) God specialises in making a way where there is no way (Isaiah 41:18):
He will turn your dry places into rivers of breakthrough.
Biblical Example: The four lepers at the gate of Samaria — When they moved forward, God amplified their steps and caused deliverance (2 Kings 7:3-8).
5. YOUR CROSSING WILL BE A TESTIMONY FOR GENERATIONS
a) God wants your miracle to be remembered (Joshua 4:6-7):
Twelve stones were set up as a memorial so future generations would know God's power.
b) Your breakthrough will inspire others (Psalm 145:4-6):
One generation will declare God’s mighty acts to another.
c) What you survive becomes your story (2 Corinthians 1:3-4):
You’ll comfort others with the same comfort God gave you.
d) Testimonies increase faith (Revelation 12:11):
When you speak of God's deliverance, you strengthen others and overcome the enemy.
Biblical Example: Hannah — Her answered prayer (Samuel) became a testimony of God's faithfulness to the barren (1 Samuel 1:27-28)
CONCLUSION:
Whatever your Jordan represents — an obstacle, fear, sickness, financial hardship, or opposition — God is able to part it and take you through to the other side. He is not intimidated by the floodwaters before you. Like He did for Israel, He will do for you — making a supernatural way where there seems to be none.
