Summary: The writer of Psalms 34 and 2 Timothy 3:10-11 both wrote about Afflictions they said the same thing and both of them used the same expression of being delivered out of them all.

THE MEANING OF THE WORD AFFLICTION.

- It is the state of being afflicted by something that cause suffering.

- Great suffering.

- The word Affliction comes from two Latin words which literally means to dash upon and the basic idea is to torment.

- The state of pain or distress.

THINGS THAT PEOPLE ARE AFFLICTED WITH.

People are afflicted by diverse problems. Below are some of the things people are afflicted with;

I. Sicknesses

II. Financial problems

III. Joblessness

IV. Family disputes

V. Business failure.

VI. Accommodation problems.

VII. Marital problems

VIII. Academic problems

IX. Physical and spiritual stagnancy. I.e

WHAT MUST YOU DO TO COME OUT OF AFFLICTIONS?

1. When trouble strikes don't get frustrated with God instead admit that you need God's help.

Psalms 124:8, Exodus 2:23-24

2. Go before God in repentance.

1 chronicles 7:14

3. Call out to God in Prayer.

Jeremiah 33:3

- Pray for healing

- pray and break any form of stagnation.

- pray for God's intervention.

4. Pray for God to sharpen your life. Ecclesiastes 10:10
