God Wants You Blessed

Text: Proverbs 10:22

Introduction:

Before God can bless us we first have to believe that God wants us blessed! It's not God's will for you to live out your life poor. Just like he's made a way for salvation he's also made a way for you to be blessed. Just like there are specific things that you have to do to be saved (i.e. come to him and ask Him to forgive you etc) there are specific things you have to do to get the blessings of God on your life.

I. You must believe that God is capable of blessing you. God is NOT poor!

A. Deut. 8:18 - If God is poor, how can he give you the power to get wealth?

B. Psalms 104:24 - If God is poor, how come the whole earth is full of His riches?

C. Deal with Matthew 8:20 - He didn’t have a place to lay His head because there wasn’t any available rooms.

D. II. Cor. 8:9 - He became poor on the Cross

II. You must believe that God wants you to be blessed.

A. Acts 3:26 - God sent Jesus to bless you.

B. Matt. 5:44, Luke 6:28, I. Cor. 4:12, I. Peter 3:9 - Blessing people was so in the nature of God that he taught his disciples to bless even their enemies!

III. God promises us blessing

A. Heb. 6:13-15 - The blessing made to Abraham

B. Mal. 3:8-12 - Covenant blessings

C. Ps. 112:1-3 - Blessing is for those who fear the Lord and delight greatly in His commandments.

D. Proverbs 10:4 - I would much rather become wealthy because of the blessing of the Lord than becoming wealthy my own way. - With the Lord there is no

sorrow with it!
