Plan for: Thanksgiving | Advent | Christmas
Explores the profound truth of God's intentional creation, overwhelming love for us, and the divine purpose He has for each of our lives.
Welcome, dear friends, to this blessed gathering. As we gather in fellowship today, we stand on the precipice of uncovering a profound truth that reverberates through the ages and echoes in the chambers of our hearts. This truth, my dear friends, is nothing less than the divine design of our Creator, the overwhelming love He has for us, and the purpose He has set out for each of us.
Our guide in this venture is the inspired Word of God, the holy scriptures that illuminate our path and reveal to us the heart of our Heavenly Father. In the Psalms, we find a beautiful expression of this divine design and love.
And in Ephesians 2:10, we are reminded, "For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."
We are not mere accidents of nature, dear friends. No, we are the deliberate, loving creations of a God who knew us before we were formed, who has a plan and purpose for each of us.
When we open the pages of the Bible, we find a beautiful truth. We see that we are not just random beings. We are not accidents. We are not just here by chance. We are, in fact, the product of a divine design. This design is not just any design. It's a design that was thoughtfully and lovingly crafted by our Creator.
Psalm 139:13-14: Here, we find a beautiful description of this divine design. The psalmist writes, "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well." These words paint a picture of a God who is intimately involved in our creation. He didn't just set things in motion and then step back. He is the one who knits us together in our mother's womb. He is the one who creates our inmost being. This is a profound truth. It tells us that we are not just physical beings. We are not just a collection of cells and organs. We are spiritual beings, created by a spiritual God. Our inmost being, our soul, is the work of God. It's part of His divine design.
Psalm 139:15-16: But the psalmist doesn't stop there. He goes on to say, "My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be." This tells us that God's divine design for us is not just about our physical bodies. It's also about our lives. God has a plan for each of us. He has ordained our days. He has written them in His book. This means that our lives are not just a series of random events. They are part of God's divine design. This is a comforting truth. It tells us that we are not alone. We are not just drifting through life. We are being guided by a loving God who has a plan for us.
Psalm 139:17-18: The psalmist goes on to say, "How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand—when I awake, I am still with you." This tells us that God's thoughts towards us are precious. They are vast. They are beyond our comprehension. This is an amazing truth. It tells us that God is not distant. He is not uncaring. He is constantly thinking about us. He is constantly with us. His thoughts towards us are precious. They are part of His divine design.
As we move forward, let's turn our attention to the second part of Ephesians 2:10, "created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do ... View this full PRO sermon free with PRO
