God speaks through what he has spoken

Heb. 4:12

Someone has said that the word is like a hammer, it can break stony hearts. Like fire, it can burn up rubbish. The Word illumines our path, shining like a lamp on a dark night and like a mirror it shows us both what we are and what we should be. The Word is a seed causing birth, milk causing growth wheat which strengthens, honey which sweetens, and gold which enriches its owner.

The bible does not contain the word of God, It is the Word of God.

2Ti 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

2Pe 1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

2Pe 1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

Pro 30:5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

Isa 40:8 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

Mat 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Rom 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

The word of God is our Weapon

Eph 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Eph 6:14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

Eph 6:15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

Eph 6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

Eph 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Is Quick = Live, life Thank God this book is life.

Powerful= Active Thank God it is not dormant It is doing something right now.

Sharper= Cut. single stroke. Makes a clean cut. The cut is easier to fit and heals cleaner.

Piercing= To reach through. The Word of God looks straight through to our soul

Discerner= 1. One who sees, discovers or distinguishes; an observer.

2. One who knows and judges; one who has the power of distinguishing.

The Word of God is be respected. Reread. And relived.

I: The Word of God Declares the Condition of Man.

All are lost without Jesus Christ. Eph 2:12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

William Booth was asked if he thought he had the best plan for developing soul-winners. He replied, “No, but I think my approach would be improved upon if I could lower each soul-winner into hell and let them experience the torments of the damned for a minute.”

D.L.Moody was a great soul-winner he said that whenever he looked at anyone, he saw either the letter S or L on his or her forehead.

Preachers would see more real conversion if we really believe that folks are lost without Jesus. Our Preaching would have more power and we would not preach to be cute, or impressive.

II: The Word of God Declares the Compassion of The Heavenly Father: Luke 15

He is pictured as the Shepherd, The weeping woman, and the faithful Father. All seeking the souls of the lost. The only place in Scripture where God is shown running..

Mat 9:36 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.

Even though man is lost apart from Jesus Christ God does not want us to continue like that. He had compassion on us.

He cared about the drunks the dope heads the prostitutes. The whoremongers, the cusser, the mockers, the hell raiser, the little Sunday school boys and girls. The sorry, the pitiful, the fools, the wise, the upper and the downer, Red yellow black and white they are all precious in his sight. (Some body say amen) He had compassion on me when I didn’t give a rip about him. Cussing him while he was loving me.
