Summary: God speaks in the past present and future, God speaks through devices.

God Speaks Psalm 50:1-8, 22-23

1. Consider some ways God speaks to us.

• God speaks through Angelic Messengers

• Yahweh speaks with Visions and dreams

• God may speak through personal experiences such as feelings of peace, conviction, or guidance in difficult situations.

• God often speaks through The Holy Word , God speaks through others

• God speaks in our hearts

2. At some point God was Silent

• God says, “These things you have done and I have been silent” (v. 21).

• You or Israel spoke 20You speak continually against your brother

and slander your own mother's son.

• God was silent but now God is coming and God is not Happy

• The people made sacrifices took care of the Temple

• It has become an empty routine. Because the sacrifices have not been followed by obedience. They have become a substitute for obedience.

3. God was silent but now God speaks God Confronts sin

• “The Mighty One, God the Lord, speaks and summons the earth…” God arrives as a devouring fire and mighty tempest symbols of judgment and awe.

• God Confronts Sin God confronted the entire earth during the great Deluge or Flood

• God confronted Sodom and Gomorrah

• God confronted David through Nathan the Prophet Thou art the man.

• All will stand before the Bema The word bema had strong cultural implications when Paul used it in his writings to the church in Corinth. Read what Paul writes about the Bema, or Judgment, Seat of Christ: “Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. Knowing, therefore, the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are well known to God, and I also trust are well known in your consciences.”—2 Corinthians 5:9-11

4. God speaks to those who ignore Him. God also speaks to those who honor and offer praise

• Forgetting God or ignoring God, results are Destruction without deliverance 22 Mark this, then, you who forget God, or I will tear you apart, and there will be no one to deliver.

• Remember the Flood total destruction without deliverance

• Those who honor God their results Salvation and Divine favor To those who go the right way I will show the salvation of God.” Those who bring thanksgiving as their sacrifice honor me;

to those who go the right way, I will show the salvation of God.”

• Remember Steven being stoned for honoring Jesus , they were furious and gnashed their teeth at him. 55But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, looked up to heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. 56"Look," he said, "I see heaven open and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God." 57At this they covered their ears and, yelling at the top of their voices, they all rushed at him, 58dragged him out of the city and began to stone him. Meanwhile, the witnesses laid their clothes at the feet of a young man named Saul.

• 59While they were stoning him, Stephen prayed, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit." 60Then he fell on his knees and cried out, "Lord, do not hold this sin against them." When he had said this, he fell asleep.

5. Finally, God speaks to us today

• Let us not be like those who offered empty sacrifices, they just sacrificed and that’s it .

• Let us not who forget God, for the warning is clear: destruction without deliverance awaits those who turn away.

• But to those who honor Him—to those who walk in His ways, offer thanksgiving, and listen when He speaks—He promises salvation, favor, and eternal life.

• So as we leave this place, Remember God is not silent He will speak

• Remember God Does Confront Sin,

• Remember God speaks to those ignore Him and to those who follow Him

• When God speaks follow His commands
