God Saw A Cross
Contributed by Evangelist Stanley Baker on Oct 11, 2011 (message contributor)
Summary: ONE WAS DENYING HIS GUILT , WHILE THE OTHER ONE ADMITTIED HIS WRONG
When Adam saw his wife sin in the garden
In the distance God saw a cross
When Cain killed his brother, God was watching
And God saw a cross
When Moses slew the Egyptian man in anger
God saw a cross
And when David chose Bathsheba over honor
God knew there had to be a cross
God saw a cross being raised on the horizon
God saw His son being slain for one and all
God saw His blood being shed for my redemption
For every fall God saw a cross
When I was born the world just saw a sinner
Oh but thanks to Jesus, God saw a cross
And when I first rejected His great offer
I'm so thankful God still saw a cross
And with each wicked choice I walked in darkness
My God saw a cross
So blinded by my sin, my soul was helpless
With eyes of mercy God still saw a cross
And when I finally gave my heart to Jesus
From that moment of time until forever
When God sees me, He only sees the cross
Last Chorus
God sees a cross…
God sees His son who was on that cross
God sees His blood that was shed on that cross

WHICH SIDE OF THE CROSS ARE YOU ON
Luke 23:33-43
I. ONE WAS DENYING HIS GUILT , WHILE THE OTHER ONE ADMITTIED HIS WRONG
(v. 39) We see the thief on the right railing on the Lord saying, “If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.
He was denying his guilt
(v 40) The other rebuked him saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?
(v 41) And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward for our deeds
He was admitting his wrong
If people are ever going to get right with God they are going to have to admit they have been wrong
II. ONE WAS SORRY FOR BEING A THIEF THE OTHER WAS SORRY HE GOT CAUGHT
Luk 23:41 And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.
Luk 23:42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
Luk 23:39 And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.
Some people aren’t sorry for what they have done they are sorry they got caught

III. ONE REALIZED HIS CONDITION, THE OTHER WAS BLIND TO HIS CONDEMNATION
If a person ever gets saved they have got to get lost first.
(v 42) And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into they kingdom
(v 43) And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise

IV. ONE WAS DYING IN SIN, ONE WAS DYING OUT OF SIN AND ONE WAS DYING FOR SIN
The thief on the left was dying in sin and refused to ask Jesus to help him
The thief on the right realizing he was in his dying minutes of life asked Jesus to remember him and died out sin
The one in the middle was alone, destitute, friendless and fatherless that day as he died for the sins of all mankind
