Summary: God’s love is unsearchable.
GOD’S WONDERFUL LOVE
John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
I. THE BREATH OF HIS LOVE
“The world”
A. NO MATTER WHO WE ARE.
1. Regardless of our race.
2. Regardless of our rank.
3. Regardless of our religion.
B. NO MATTER WHAT WE HAVE DONE.
And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry; Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. (1 Timothy 1:12-15 KJV)
II. THE DEPTH OF HIS LOVE.
“He gave his only begotten son”
A. THE PERSON HE WAS.
1. The miracle that was conceived.
Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. (Luke 1:34-35 KJV)
2. The message that was conveyed.
And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. (Luke 2:8-11 KJV)
B. THE PURPOSE HE HAD.
1. To reveal His Father’s love.
2. To redeem fallen lives.
This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. (1 Timothy 1:15 KJV)
