God's Will For Tomorrow

Summary: It is good to have goals but goals will disappoint you if you leave God out of them.
God’s Will for Tomorrow
James 4:13-17 13 Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit"; 14 whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. 15 Instead you ought to say, "If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that." 16 But now you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil. 17 Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.
Counting on the future is folly. Vs 13, 14
It is good to have goals but goals will disappoint you if you leave God out of them.
We have been swamped and snowed under by every type of motivational Guru and speaker, the Ideas of great wealth and success. We have been conditioned as children to succeed and now to the point to become over achiever. This why our youth can not cope.
We Categorize people as “A type” personalities and such. All Great minds and thinkers These people work so hard they have set their families and friends aside, they are consumed with the idea of success, or even worse the shame of failure.
They can’t rationalize that there is “forgiveness”, if you fail. The world today (society) doesn’t forgive, it s hard and cruel and it will cut you away quickly if you can’t keep up, “survival of the fittest”.
See the folly of MAN who is not flexible laying out the plans for his future as if he could command his life, this lie has been exposed..
Whose hands is your life in? Has your natural life ever been in your own hands? Don’t We all answer to someone? Where is your spiritual life?
What is ahead in your life? Who knows that he will have a tomorrow, since life is like a vanishing vapor?
Poof……. you’re old and soon gone
So we make plans even in fear of the end, Funeral arrangements years ahead of time.
The Great 10 year plans I have made,
Are you pliable to the change in YOUR plan for Gods plan?
How will you react when God steps in after all your planning and changes your plans?
The lack of knowledge of the future is a matter of fact. This is the truth.
Or wouldn’t we know when Jesus is coming? Wouldn’t you spend your time on that idea? And preparing?
Vs 15 – 17 Our dependence is upon Gods will for our lives
We ought to see in the dictionary under the definition of “plan”
Plan: see Gods Will
The proper way is to plan everything is subject to the Lord’s will. The movement of the Holy Spirit
An independent spirit wars against Gods humility.
This knowledge does not prevent, but increases his disapproval.
Recognition of God in the future… is wisdom
The final thought will be that the use of the present is our duty. WHAT GOD HAS FOR US TO DO TODAY.
Therefore to him that knows to do good and does it not – Not relying on God and doing so is sin
SO IF…. recognition of God in the future is wisdom?
Do the good you know to do, regardless of the cost. Not to do this would be sin.
So plan ahead but hold your plans loosely in your hand. Flow in the winds of the Spirit of the Holy Ghost
Keep Gods desires in the center of your center plans / Or even better the center of your heart
HE will never disappoint you.
Amen
