"The Will of God Part #2"
(The Acceptable Will of God) Rom. 12:2
Intro.: There is a man sitting on top of a moutain thinking, another man strugling to
climb up this mountian, to ask him one of the most thought provoking question’s of all
time. Why am I here and what am I supposed to be doing? The first part of the question
is easy 1Cor. 10:31. The second part of the question is a little more difficult, but can be
answered from God’s Word, here in Rom. 12:2.
Every Christian can be in "The Acceptable Will of God" by taking these 4 Steps.
1) A Step of Holiness
Exodus 28:38 And it shall be upon Aaron’s forehead, that Aaron may bear the iniquity of
the holy things, which the children of Israel shall hallow in all their holy gifts; and it shall
be always upon his forehead, that they may be accepted before the LORD.
1A) We have been Called
1 Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a
peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out
of darkness into his marvellous light;
1B) We will be Chastised
1 Corinthians 3:17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the
temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
1C) We have been Commissioned
2 Timothy 1:8 Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me
his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the
power of God; Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to
our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ
Jesus before the world began, But is now made manifest by the appearing of our
Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality
to light through the gospel: Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and
a teacher of the Gentiles.
2) A Step of Hospitality
2A) In Our Giving
Philippians 4:15 Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when
I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and
receiving, but ye only. For even in Thessalonica ye sent once and again unto my necessity.
Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account. But I have
all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent
from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God. But my
God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
2B) In Our Greeting
1 Thessalonians 5:26 Greet all the brethren with an holy kiss.
2C) In Our Gathering
Psalms 126:6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless
come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.
Psalms 51:12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free
spirit.
Psalms 51:13 Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted
unto thee.
3) A Step of Harvesting
3A) Speaks of your Wisdom
Proverbs 11:30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.
Daniel 12:2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to
everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. And they that be wise
shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness
as the stars for ever and ever.
3B) Speaks of your Wealth
John 4:36 And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal:
that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.
3C) Speaks of your Worship
Matthew 4:19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of
men. And they straightway left their nets, and followed him.
Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and
ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and
unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Acts 4:2 Being grieved that they taught the people, and preached through Jesus the
resurrection from the dead. And they laid hands on them, and put them in hold unto
the next day: for it was now eventide. Howbeit many of them which heard the word
believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand
4) A Step of Humility
Job 42:9 So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite
