God’s Salvation Plan

I am not talking about what I think salvation is. I am not talking about what you think salvation is. I am talking about what God says salvation is!

Today, I want to take God’s word and see what God’s says eternal salvation is. You see my goal is that when this sermon is over that you will have a clear understanding of what salvation is really about and if you don’t like it you can take it up with God because it is his word.

First let’s take the word salvation. What does it mean? Salvation means to be saved. Ok now that we know what salvation means what do we need to be saved from? Our sins!! Why? Because our sins separate us from God. Why do our sins separate us from God? Because He is a holy God, there is no sin in Him, and He takes no part with sin. Therefore our sins separate us from God.

Ok now that we know that our sins separate us from GOD, who are sinners? We all are . Let’s look at God’s word on who a sinner is. Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. For all have sinned. It didn’t say one or some, what did it say all have sinned. Let’s look at another verse in God’s word. Isaiah 53:6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. All have gone astray, not some , but who ? All have gone astray every one to his own way. You see we are all sinners in God’s sight. Romans 3:10

As it is written, There is none righteous no not one. Also Psalms 14:1-3 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there are none that doeth good. The lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God. They are all gone aside, they are all together, become filthy, there is none that doeth good no not one. So according to God’s word we all stand guilty of sin.

What does the Bible say sin brings forth in our lives? Let’s look again in God’s word in Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. For the wages of sin is death, I am not talking about just a physical death I am talking about a spiritual death. You see brothers; the Bible teaches that a sinner who is not reconciled with God experiences two deaths. One physical and one spiritual. You see if a man dies a physical death and is not reconciled with God spiritually, than he is damned to hell.

Now I know there is always someone who don’t believe in heaven or hell, or that GOD would cast someone into hell. Lets see what God’s word says about that. Luke 12:5 But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: fear him which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell.Yea I say unto you, Fear him.

So how do we reconcile ourselves with God? The fact of the matter is that there is no good work that we can do to gain favor or salvation from God. If so it would be our salvation plan instead of God’s salvation plan.

God’s plan is so simple that it is hard to grasp for an unbeliever. Let’s go back to Romans 6:23

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ.

I want you to notice first, it says the gift of God. How many of you have ever paid for a true gift? You cannot pay for a gift it is freely given. You cannot earn a gift it is given out of love. John 3:16

Says for God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten Son that who so ever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. Key word here is God gave. What did God give? He gave a gift. What was the gift? The gift was his Son Jesus.

You see God gave his Son, Jesus to be crucified as a one-time sin offering. You see Jesus gave his life so that we may live. John1:29 says Behold the Lamb of God , which taketh away the sin of the world. In Old Testament times there had to be a sacrifice, the shedding of blood for the atonement of sin. A lamb was commonly used for this kind of sacrifice. You see this sacrifice really was pointing to what Jesus was going to do on the cross.
