Understanding and appreciating the comforting presence of God during challenging times

Introduction

If you have your Bibles, turn to the book of Ezekiel in the Old Testament. Many of you have been the subject of discussions lately. People have been talking about how you have endured so many hardships and difficulties, and yet you are still here. Some of you have faced major transitions recently and you may be wondering how you made it through. How did you survive car accidents, physical assaults, and health issues? How did you handle the stress and pressure without losing your mind? The answer lies in the four words at the end of our text: "The Lord was there."

Main Points

1. The Lord is always there when you need Him. Even in the darkest times, when it seems like no one else is there for you, God is present. He never leaves your side.

2. We often focus on those who are not there for us, but we should shift our focus to who is there - God. It's a blessing when some people don't show up because they may not have been able to provide the right support or guidance. God knows when to show up and He is always there for us.

3. We need to be careful how we treat God's people because mistreating them brings down God's wrath upon us. We should stand up for righteousness and treat others with love and respect.

4. Throughout history, God has shown His presence and faithfulness to His people. He was there for Abraham, Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in their times of need. He is always there for us too.

5. We must remember that God sees everything we do, both good and evil. We should strive to live according to His will and avoid sinning.

Conclusion

No matter what challenges or adversities you face, remember that the Lord is always there for you. He is there when you are sick, lonely, broke, mistreated, accused, or lied on. He is there in your lowest moments and in your highest joys. He is there to guide and protect you. So, instead of dwelling on those who are not there for you, focus on the fact that the Lord is always there. Testify to His faithfulness and share with others how He has been there for you. Trust in His presence and let Him lead you through every situation.
