This sermon explores the three anointings of David as a roadmap for understanding how God brings about accelerated promotion in the lives of believers. Through a process of testing and graduation, from little to much, we can reach a place of Divine Trust.
In this sermon, we will explore the three anointings of David, which illustrate how God brings about divine acceleration and promotion in the life of a believer. These anointings serve as tests and steps towards gaining God's divine trust.
Scripture: 1 Samuel 16:12-13
God chose David, who was glowing with health and had a fine appearance, to be anointed in the presence of his brothers. From that day on, the Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon David.
Scripture: 2 Samuel 2:1-4
After years of unjust suffering as a fugitive from King Saul, David sought God's guidance. He was directed to Hebron, where the men of Judah anointed him as their king. This led to a division between the North and South, with Saul's son becoming king of the Northern Tribe.
Scripture: 2 Samuel 5:3
All the elders of Israel came to King David at Hebron, where they made a covenant before the Lord and anointed David as king over Israel. This anointing marked the peak of David's reign, where he expanded Israel's boundaries, revived the economy, and shaped a national interest in spiritual concerns.
Under David's leadership, Israel experienced remarkable growth and prosperity. He expanded the nation's boundaries from 6,000 to 60,000 square miles, established trade routes, unified the people, and subdued their enemies. David also played a significant role in reviving religious order and bringing about a golden age of hope for the people.

6. Divine favor comes through humility and recognizing God's sovereignty.
7. Divine favor does not exempt us from experiencing weariness at times.
8. Divine favor comes through waiting for God's perfect timing.
9. Divine favor comes from prioritizing God above all else.
Divine favor and acceleration are not achieved overnight but require a process of testing, obedience, and faithfulness. Just as David experienced divine promotion, we too can experience God's favor in our lives. Let us embrace the lessons from David's journey and trust in God's timing and plan for our lives.
