Jeremiah 33:1-9 (text v. 3) GOD'S INVITATION I. The PERSON we Entreat --"Call unto me…" (a) The Sovereign One 2 Thus saith the LORD the maker thereof, (b) The Saving One 2 The LORD that formed it, (c) The Sustaining One 2 to establish it; (d) The Sufficient One 2 The LORD is his name; II. The PRECAUTION we Employ We: - 1. Call Correctly, In Name of Christ - John 14:13-14 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. 2.Call Cleanly Psalm.66:18, If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:

3. Call Continually (Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:) (means to keep on asking, seeking, knocking.)

4. Call Confidently (1 John 5:14-15) And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: 15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

III. The PROMISE we Embrace --"…I will answer thee…" A. The wisdom of God perceives what is best for us. B.The love of God promises what is best for us. C. The power of God performs what is best for us. IV. The PROVISION we Enjoy --"…and shew thee great and mighty things…" Deuteronomy 10:21 He is thy praise, and he is thy God, that hath done for thee these great and terrible things, which thine eyes have seen.

1 Samuel 12:24 Only fear the LORD, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you.

Mark 3:8 And from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea, and from beyond Jordan; and they about Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, when they had heard what great things he did, came unto him.

Mark 5:19 Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.

A. His Great counsel. Ro 11:34 For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?

B. His Mighty works. Ps 46:8 Come, behold the works of the LORD, what desolations he hath made in the earth. Ps 77:11 I will remember the works of the LORD: surely I will remember thy wonders of old. Ps 111:2 The works of the LORD are great, sought out of all them that have pleasure therein. Ps 118:17 I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD. V. The PLENTY we Experience "…which thou knowest not." -- Expect the unexpected! God always exceeds our request! Psalms 2:8 Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. 1 Kings 3:5 In Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give thee.

Zechariah 10:1 Ask ye of the LORD rain in the time of the latter rain; so the LORD shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field.

Matthew 7:8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

Matthew 21:22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

John 14:13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

John 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
