“God’s Greatest Promise”

John 5:24

I. The CREDIBILITY of the promise. (v. 24a) Numbers 23:19; 1 Thessalonians 5:24; Malachi 3:6

A. It’s a Promise that is CERTAIN. verily, verily 1 Samuel 15:29; Hebrews 6:18; Titus 1:2

B. It’s a Promise from our CREATOR. I say unto you Romans 4:21; Genesis 15:6; Hebrews 13:8; Psalm 102:27

II. The CONDITIONS of the Promise. (v. 24b) Matthew 7:24; Acts 10:43; 13:39

A. One must HEAR the Word. Deuteronomy 18:18; John 8:47; Acts 3:22; Isaiah 55:3; Romans 10:17; John 18:37; 1 John 4:6

B. One must HEED Jesus. Believeth – Committed in faith Mark 16:16; John 3:16, 36; 6:40; 12:44; 20:31; Romans 10:11-13; 1 John 5:1; Romans 4:5

III. The COMFORT of the Promise. (v. 24c) Colossians 1:13; 1 Peter 2:9-10

A. The CONSOLATION of Everlasting Life. Hath – present John 6:47; 1 John 5:11-12; John 10:27-30; Romans 6:23

B. We will not come into CONDEMNATION. Future – will not come John 3:15, 17-18; Romans 8:1, 33-34; 1 Thessalonians 5:9; 2 Thessalonians 2:13-14; Romans 5:9

C. We have CROSSED over from death to life. Past – passed over John 8:51; 11:26; 1 John 3:14-16; Romans 6:13
