Youth Sermon: God's Grace is With Us

Introduction

Ever feel like God's only around when things are going great? What about when life gets messy? When you're stressed out or feeling like you're not enough? Moses felt the same way. Today, we're going to see how God's grace and presence are always with us, even when we're under fire.

Let's begin with a prayer: God, even when we can't feel you, remind us through your Holy Spirit that you are with us. Let us know that your grace is always with us and that you will never leave us.

Today, we're going to be talking about God's grace. We all have those times when it's hard to feel God's goodness. We forget how awesome and gracious He is.

Today, we're going to see how God's grace and presence are always with us, even when we're under fire.

God's Grace and Faith

As followers of Jesus, we're saved by grace through faith in Him. God uses His grace to strengthen our faith, especially during the tough times.

Our faith is more valuable than gold. It's worth going through struggles and trials. Through them, we learn that God is faithful and His grace is always with us.

God's Grace in Moses' Story

Let's dive into a familiar story from the Old Testament about Moses. He had an experience that deepened his understanding of God's grace. He learned that God's grace is often shown through His presence with His people.

What a story! God was faithful to go with Moses everywhere, enabling him to do incredible things for the Lord. But it wasn't easy. God's grace is with us...

God's Grace Even When We Have Questions

Moses had a lot of questions for God, starting with 'What if?' We all have questions, and sometimes they come from doubt. But God is okay with our questions. Doubt creeps in, but we can trust that God is all-powerful and with us even when we have questions.

In this story, a father asks Jesus to help his son. The father says, 'I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!' It's okay to bring our questions to God. He can handle them and show us grace through the process.

God's Grace Even When We Don't Believe

God reveals Himself to us in many ways, even when we don't believe. He shows up in miraculous ways to strengthen our faith. Just like Moses, God can work miracles in our lives that no one else sees. His grace is with us, even when we struggle to believe.

When we talk to God about our doubts, our faith grows stronger. We realize that He is for us and with us. Moses saw God work miracles, and God can do the same in our lives.

God's Grace Even When We Don't Know What to Say

Sometimes, we're at a loss for words. Moses made excuses and didn't know what to say, but God provided the words. He does the same for us today.

God's timing is perfect. When we need the right words, He gives them to us. Our Exodus 4 passage ends with God telling Moses, 'Now go! I will be with you as you speak, and I will instruct you in what to say.' God calls us to share the good news of Jesus with others.

Conclusion

Today, we learned about Moses' journey and growing faith. He had doubts, fears, and couldn't understand why God chose him. But he was saved by God's grace, just like us.

If Moses were here today, he would say it was only by God's grace that he accomplished what he did. He was a broken, imperfect human who relied on God's grace.

If you have doubts or fears, know that you're not alone. Give them to God and trust that His grace is with you. 'For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith... it is the gift of God.' - Ephesians 2:8

This week, when you're feeling stressed or doubting, remember the candle. Just like the smoke, God's grace is still with you, even when you can't see it. Talk to God about your doubts and fears, and trust that He's got your back.
