GENESIS 3:1-13, 20-24 God's Call To The Sinner

9 And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?

God was Calling Them :-

I. FROM SIN 6 “she took the fruit”, “her husband with her and he did eat”

A. Sin's Desire - 6 when the woman saw that the tree was good for food,

Judas - money, Diotrophes - pre-eminence, Demas - world.

B. Sin's Deception - and a tree to be desired to make one wise,

C. Sin's Decision - she took of the fruit thereof,

D. Sin's Disobedience - and did eat,

E. Sin's Death - Sin is a killer. Prov 11:19 As righteousness [tendeth] to life: so he that pursueth evil [pursueth it] to his own death.

Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

II. WHILE IN SEPARATION

8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.

Ephs 2:13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

A. Separated From The Presence of God

Isaiah 59:2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid [his] face from you, that he will not hear.

B. Separated From The Power of God

John 15:5 I am the vine, ye [are] the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

C. Separated From The Purposes of God

9 And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?

In Relation To :- The Will Of God, The Word Of God, The Work Of God.

All ye that pass by, to Jesus draw nigh:

To you is it nothing that Jesus should die?

Your ransom and peace, your surety He is:

Come, see if there ever was, sorrow like His.

III. BY A SEARCHING

9 And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?

I. God's Voice is a SEEKING Voice. Here Is:-

The Sovereign's Call - 9 And the LORD God called

The Sinner's Call - called unto Adam

The Saviour's Call - and said unto him, Where art thou?

Luke 19:10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

II. God's Voice is a SPEAKING Voice.

9 And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?

A. It was Personal 9 And the LORD God called unto Adam ...

B. It was Pressing Where art thou?

PHYSICALLY ?, Hiding. EMOTIONALLY ?, Ashamed. SPIRITUALLY ? Dead.

C. It was Powerful And the LORD God called

Rev 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

D. It was Purposeful - Adam's confession 10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.

Men do not get saved until they realize that they are lost.

III. God's Voice is a SEARCHING Voice

Eze 33:11 Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

IV. God's Voice is a SAVING Voice

Isa 63:1 Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save.

IV. TO SALVATION

A. By A Call 9 “The Lord God called unto Adam”

B. By A Conviction 7 “they knew that they were naked”

C. By A Confession 11 And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?

D. By A Cleansing 21 Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins. - Without the shedding of blood is no remission.

E. By A Covering 21 and clothed them.
