2 Timothy 1:9--Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

1 Peter 2:9--But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;

1 Corinthians 1:26--For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:

Romans 8:28--And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Matthew 10:1--And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.

Called to service

Eph 6:11-18--Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Equipped for witness

Acts 1:1-3--The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen: To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:

What did Jesus begin and do?

A. JESUS PREACHED THE GOSPEL AND HEALED THE SICK:

Acts 10:38-- How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

B. JESUS SENT THE 12 TO PREACH THE GOSPEL AND HEAL THE SICK:

Luke 9:1-2--Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases. And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.

C. JESUS SENT THE 70 TO PREACH THE GOSPEL AND HEAL THE SICK:

Luke 10:1--After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.

Luke 10:9--And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.

D. JESUS COMMISSIONS ALL TO PREACH AND HEAL:

Mark 16:15-18-- And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Empowered for the impossible.

You really need to KNOW WHO YOU ARE

To step out and be the person we are called to be and to do the things we are called to be we need to be people of FAITH – having faith in GOD – it is HIM who works in us – I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH HIM WHO GIVES ME STRENGTH.

Overturn the doubt by fixing your eyes on Jesus, His truth and His words. It’s all about attitude. David’s attitude was one of faith. Not doubt.
