Plan for: Thanksgiving | Advent | Christmas
This sermon encourages us to trust God in all circumstances, live according to His plan, perceive His guidance, and practice compassion and forgiveness as He commands.
Welcome to another beautiful day in the house of the Lord. Isn't it a marvel to gather in His name, to bask in His glory, and to learn from His holy Word? We are here, not by accident, but by divine appointment. We are here because our God, in His infinite wisdom and boundless love, has called us to this place, at this time, to hear His message.
Our sermon today is a rich tapestry woven from the threads of purpose, perception, and practice. These are not mere words, but guiding stars that light our path as we strive to live according to God's plan, perceive the new life He offers, and practice the compassion He commands.
God's plan is a divine blueprint, a celestial roadmap that guides us towards our true purpose. It's not always easy to decipher, and it's not always what we expect. But it's there, etched in the stars and written on our hearts. It's there in the quiet whispers of prayer, in the loud proclamations of praise, and in the silent moments of reflection. It's there in the challenges we face, the victories we celebrate, and the lessons we learn. It's there, waiting for us to discover, to embrace, and to follow.
Understanding God's plan requires faith. We must have trust in His wisdom, confidence in His love, and belief in His promises. We need to let go of our own plans, our own desires, and our own understanding. It requires us to step out of our comfort zone, to step into the unknown, and to step up to the challenges that come our way.
Living according to God's plan requires courage. It requires us to face our fears, to overcome our doubts, and to conquer our insecurities. It requires us to be brave, to be bold, and to be strong.
Finding our purpose in God's plan requires patience. We are to wait upon the Lord. It requires us to be persistent, to be resilient, and to be tenacious. It requires us to keep going, to keep believing, and to keep praying. It requires us to be steadfast, to be unwavering, and to be unyielding. It requires us to be patient, to be hopeful, and to be faithful.
The Scripture we read today is a beautiful reminder of this. It shows us to put on compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience. It reminds us to bear with one another, to forgive each other, and to love each other. It reminds us to let the peace of Christ rule in our hearts, to let the word of Christ dwell in us richly, and to do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus.
