God’s Ark

Genesis 6

1.When the Ark was provided, death threatened all.

v.5-7 5 Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 6 The LORD was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved [a]in His heart. 7 The LORD said, “I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, from man to animals to creeping things and to birds of the [b]sky; for I am sorry that I have made them.”

2. The ark was God’s appointed refuge.

6:18 But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons' wives with thee

3. It was the ONLY refuge

6:17-18 Behold, I, even I am bringing the flood of water upon the earth, to destroy all flesh in which is the breath of life, from under heaven; everything that is on the earth shall perish. 18 But I will establish My covenant with you; and you shall enter the ark—you and your sons and your wife, and your sons’ wives with you.

4. All who entered it were saved.

7:23b Only Noah was left, and those with him in the boat.

5. All who remained outside DID perish.

7:19-23 The water prevailed more and more upon the earth, so that all the high mountains [a]everywhere under the heavens were covered. 20 The water prevailed fifteen [b]cubits higher, and the mountains were covered. 21 All flesh that [c]moved on the earth perished, birds and cattle and beasts and every swarming thing that swarms upon the earth, and all mankind; 22 of all that was on the dry land, all in whose nostrils was the breath of the spirit of life, died. 23 Thus He blotted out [d]every living thing that was upon the face of the land, from man to animals to creeping things and to birds of the [e]sky, and they were blotted out from the earth; and only Noah was left, together with those that were with him in the ark.

6, There came a time when it was TOO LATE to

enter.

7:16 Those that entered, male and female of all flesh, entered as God had commanded him; and the LORD closed it behind him.

Now you know the story of Noah’s ark…

But what about God’s Ark?

1.When the Ark was provided, death threatened all.

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

Ezekiel 18:4.... “The, soul that sins shall die”

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life/

2. The ark was God’s appointed refuge.

John 3:16

Rev. 13:8 ‘The Lamb that was slain from the foundation of the earth”

Acts 2:23 “This Jesus was delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God.

3. It was the ONLY refuge

Acts 4:12 And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.

John 14:6 “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, no man cometh to the Father except by me.”

4. All who entered it were saved.

Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

John 6:37 “All whom the Father gives to me WILL come to me, and he who comes to me I will not cast out.”

5. All who remained outside DID perish.

John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

John 3:36 He who believes on the Son hath eternal life; and he who does not obey the Son has not life, the wrath of God rests on him.”

John 5:12 “He who has the Son has life, and he who has not the Son has not life.”

6. There came a time when it was TOO LATE to

enter.

Mt. 25:10 And while they were going away to make the purchase, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding feast; and the door was shut.

Luke 13:22-28 And He was passing through from one city and village to another, teaching, and proceeding on His way to Jerusalem. 23 And someone said to Him, “Lord, are there just a few who are being saved?” And He said to them, 24 “Strive to enter through the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able. 25 Once the head of the house gets up and shuts the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock on the door, saying, ‘Lord, open up to us!’ then He will answer and say to you, ‘I do not know where you are from.’ 26 Then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in Your presence, and You taught in our streets’; 27 and He will say, ‘I tell you, I do not know where you are from; DEPART FROM ME, ALL YOU EVILDOERS.’ 28 In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but yourselves being thrown out.
