The first cell phone I had several years ago was big and bulky...some of you might of had one....big battery and you carried it like a suitcase. Then years later the pocket size came along...
Before I discovered that my cell phone had a lock screen button I would accidentally dial the last number when I put it in my pocket.
The biggest problem was that I never realized that it had happened. I would go on with normal day and my cell phone would be on for a while and without we knowing it.
When I found out that it was on… either when I picked it up to make a call or when the person on the other end would hang up, and call me back to laugh at me, I would have this strange fear overcome me.
What did I say, when I didn’t know that someone else was listening? Did I gossip? Did I say something bad?
Did I make a joke that I wouldn’t want the person on the other end to know about?
Well that it is how it is with the Holy Spirit all the time!
It’s like your cell phone has accidentally called God and you didn’t know it.
Would we live our life differently if every conversation and every thought we ever had was being heard by Pastor Darrell?
Well it is not being heard by our Pastor, but our every thought and every word is heard and recorded by our Lord...(that’s a sobering thought)

Acts 1:1-14
1 The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,
2 Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:
3 To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:
4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?
7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.
8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
9 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
10 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
You’ll notice that verse 1 and 2 Luke says that Jesus taught while He was here on this earth Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:
Jesus taught the disciples by word and deed ..truth necessary to carry on His work.....the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.
On the cross, He finished the work of Salvation and now it’s our job to take that teaching of our Lords to the uttermost parts of the world.
He didn’t say that we are to do it on our own.....the disciples couldn’t do it on their own....Jesus was with them....guiding them and teaching them...explaining to them Gods plan of grace and mercy to all of mankind......
..............It’s all recorded here in the Bible for us to take that plan and tell others
Also how that we can live our life to be an example to others ..........but we still can’t do it on our own.........
Luke said in verse 2 after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:.........After what?.......After Jesus ascending to Heaven
During the upper room discourse in John chapter 14 Jesus promised He wouldn’t leave us comfortless...that He would send the Holy Spirit.
John 14:18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you
