INTRODUCTION:

In a world full of lies, deception, and compromise, the nature of God as the God of Truth stands as a powerful and unchanging reality. God is not only the source of truth—He is Truth. Everything He says is reliable, everything He promises is sure, and everything He does is based on His holy and righteous nature.

While the enemy is called the father of lies (John 8:44), our God is the Father of truth. He cannot lie, and His Word is forever settled in heaven. When God speaks, creation responds. When God promises, time and circumstance must align with His Word. Trusting in the God of truth means we anchor our lives on what is eternally reliable.

As believers, understanding and trusting in God's truth gives us confidence in uncertain times. It teaches us to live righteously, walk in integrity, and proclaim His unchanging Word without fear or compromise.

1. GOD IS TRUTH IN HIS NATURE

God is not just truthful—He is the very embodiment of truth.

a) God Cannot Lie (Titus 1:2)

His promises are built on an unchangeable nature.

b) All His Works Are Done in Truth (Psalm 33:4)

Everything God does is consistent with His character and truth.

c) He Is the God of Truth and Without Injustice (Deuteronomy 32:4)

There is no falsehood, corruption, or deceit in Him.

d) He Is the Amen—the Final Say (Revelation 3:14)

His Word is the last authority on all matters.

Biblical Example: God’s promise to Abraham was fulfilled exactly as He had said, despite the odds (Genesis 21:1-2).

2. JESUS IS THE REVELATION OF GOD’S TRUTH

Jesus Christ came to reveal the truth of the Father and lead us into it.

a) Jesus Declared, “I Am the Truth” (John 14:6)

Truth is not just a doctrine—it is a Person.

b) He Came to Bear Witness to the Truth (John 18:37)

His mission was to reveal God’s truth to a lost world.

c) His Words Are Spirit and Life (John 6:63)

They carry eternal power and are never empty.

d) He Is Full of Grace and Truth (John 1:14)

Jesus balanced love with unwavering truth.

Biblical Example: Jesus confronted falsehood and hypocrisy with truth, like when He exposed the Pharisees (Matthew 23:27-28).

3. THE WORD OF GOD IS TRUTH

The Bible is the written expression of God's truth and the standard for life.

a) God’s Word Is Eternal and Settled in Heaven (Psalm 119:89)

It does not change with culture or opinion.

b) The Word Sanctifies Us (John 17:17)

Truth sets us apart for holy living.

c) The Word Is a Mirror to Our Souls (James 1:23-25)

It reveals who we are and what we must become.

d) The Word Discerns Thoughts and Intents (Hebrews 4:12)

It penetrates beyond appearance into the heart.

Biblical Example: When Jesus was tempted, He overcame the devil with the written Word of truth (Matthew 4:1-11).

4. GOD’S TRUTH DEMANDS OUR RESPONSE

To walk with the God of Truth, we must embrace and live by the truth.

a) We Must Worship in Spirit and Truth (John 4:24)

True worship is rooted in truth, not emotion alone.

b) Truth Must Dwell in Our Hearts and Speech (Ephesians 4:25)

We are called to put away falsehood and speak truth.

c) Truth Brings Freedom (John 8:32)

It liberates us from the bondage of sin and deception.

d) We Must Be Doers of the Truth (3 John 1:4)

Our lives should reflect God's truth in conduct and character.

Biblical Example: The Bereans were commended because they received the Word with eagerness and examined the Scriptures daily (Acts 17:11).

CONCLUSION:

The God of Truth is a sure foundation in a world full of shifting values and deceptive philosophies. His Word is flawless, His promises are dependable, and His character is impeccable. When we align ourselves with His truth, we experience peace, clarity, and divine favour.

Now more than ever, the world needs Christians who will stand for and live by the truth. Let us be people who not only know the truth but also walk in it, speak it boldly, and reflect it daily.

PRAYER POINTS:

1. Lord, thank You for being the God of Truth—help me to walk in Your truth daily.

2. Father, purge my heart from every form of deception and falsehood.

3. Let Your Word be my compass and guide in all areas of life.

4. Strengthen me to uphold and declare Your truth boldly in this perverse generation.

5. Lord, raise a generation that will honour and live by Your truth.
