INTRODUCTION:
Power belongs to God. He is not just powerful; He is all-powerful—the Omnipotent One. Throughout the Bible, God’s power is displayed in creation, deliverance, healing, resurrection, and transformation. His power has no limit and is unmatched by any force in heaven, on earth, or beneath the earth.
Many trust in earthly systems, military might, or human wisdom, but the believer must anchor faith in the God of power. His power is not just for show—it is for transformation, dominion, victory, and divine fulfilment. When God arises in His power, every obstacle becomes a stepping stone.
As we examine this topic, may you encounter this God whose power cannot be questioned, measured, or resisted.
1. GOD’S POWER IS ABSOLUTE AND UNLIMITED
Nothing is too hard for the Lord. His power has no boundaries or restrictions.
a) He Created the Universe by His Power (Jeremiah 32:17)
He spoke and everything came into being—by His great power nothing is impossible.
b) He Rules Over All Kingdoms and Authorities (Daniel 4:35)
No one can stop or question His sovereign power.
c) His Power Is Greater than All Human Strength (Isaiah 40:29)
He gives power to the faint and strengthens the weak.
d) His Power Cannot Fail or Be Diminished (Isaiah 43:13)
What He purposes to do, no one can hinder.
Biblical Example: God parted the Red Sea by His power, delivering Israel and drowning Pharaoh’s army (Exodus 14:21-28).
2. GOD’S POWER IS DISPLAYED THROUGH JESUS CHRIST
Jesus is the express image of God’s power and glory on earth.
a) Jesus Healed the Sick and Raised the Dead (Acts 10:38)
He went about doing good, showing the power of God in action.
b) He Defeated Sin and Death Through the Cross (Romans 1:16)
The gospel is the power of God unto salvation.
c) His Resurrection Demonstrates God’s Incomparable Power (Ephesians 1:19–21)
Christ is seated above every power, dominion, and name.
d) Jesus is the Channel of God’s Power to Believers (Matthew 28:18)
All power in heaven and on earth has been given to Him.
Biblical Example: Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead after four days, proving God’s power over death (John 11:43-44).
3. GOD RELEASES HIS POWER TO HIS PEOPLE
God does not hoard His power—He shares it with those who trust Him.
a) Believers Are Empowered by the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8)
Power comes upon us to witness and demonstrate the kingdom.
b) God Gives Power to Overcome Temptation and Sin (Romans 6:14)
We are not slaves to sin; His power gives us victory.
c) God’s Power Enables Us to Do the Impossible (Luke 1:37)
With God, nothing shall be impossible for those who believe.
d) His Power Works Best in Our Weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9)
His strength is made perfect when we lean on Him.
Biblical Example: Peter healed the lame man at the gate Beautiful by the power of God (Acts 3:6-8).
4. LIVING IN GOD’S POWER DAILY
We are not just to admire God’s power; we are to live by it.
a) Rely on God’s Power, Not Human Effort (Zechariah 4:6)
It is not by might or by power, but by the Spirit of the Lord.
b) Pray for a Fresh Release of His Power (Ephesians 3:16)
Be strengthened with might by His Spirit in your inner man.
c) Walk in Boldness and Authority (2 Timothy 1:7)
God has given us the spirit of power, love, and sound mind.
d) Expect the Supernatural Every Day (Mark 16:17-18)
Signs and wonders follow those who believe in His name.
Biblical Example: Elijah called down fire on Mount Carmel to prove God’s power over Baal (1 Kings 18:36-39).
CONCLUSION:
The God of power is still the same today. He created the world, raised the dead, parted seas, shut lions' mouths, and delivered His people by His power. That same power is available to you through Jesus Christ.
In your weakness, His strength will be made perfect. In your battles, His power will give victory. Do not fear what men or devils can do—walk in the authority and confidence that comes from knowing the God of power.
