INTRODUCTION:
God is not a God who begins something and abandons it halfway. He is the God of Completion—faithful to finish every good work He begins. In a world full of unfinished projects, broken dreams, and abandoned visions, God stands out as the One who sees the end from the beginning and has the power to bring His plans to full completion.
From the creation of the world to the redemption of mankind, the Scriptures consistently reveal a God who finishes what He starts. God does not just initiate great things; He brings them to perfection in His time and for His glory. This brings hope to believers that no matter the delay or opposition, what God has started in your life, He will complete.
In this message, we will discover the nature of God's completeness, the assurance it brings to us as His children, and how we can trust Him to finish His work in us and through us.
1. GOD IS COMMITTED TO COMPLETING WHAT HE STARTS
God is a master planner and fulfiller of purpose.
a) God Finishes What He Begins (Genesis 2:1-2)
Creation was not left halfway—God finished His work and rested.
b) He Will Perfect His Work in You (Philippians 1:6)
God is faithful to complete every good work He begins in your life.
c) God Is Not a Man That He Should Fail (Numbers 23:19)
He is dependable and trustworthy to finish what He promises.
d) Completion Is a Sign of Divine Presence (Psalm 138:8)
God will perfect all that concerns His children.
Biblical Example: Nehemiah rebuilding the wall of Jerusalem—Despite opposition, God empowered them to complete the task (Nehemiah 6:15-16).
2. GOD’S TIMING IS PERFECT FOR COMPLETION
God completes things at the right time—not our time.
a) He Makes All Things Beautiful in His Time (Ecclesiastes 3:11)
There is divine timing attached to divine completion.
b) Delays Do Not Mean Denials (Habakkuk 2:3)
Though it tarries, wait for it—it shall surely come.
c) God’s Completion Brings Peace and Satisfaction (Isaiah 26:3)
When God finishes a work, it leaves no sorrow or confusion.
d) Trusting God’s Timing Requires Faith and Patience (Hebrews 10:36)
We need endurance to receive what God has promised.
Biblical Example: Abraham and Sarah receiving Isaac—Though delayed, God completed His promise of a child (Genesis 21:1-2).
3. JESUS IS THE ULTIMATE EXPRESSION OF DIVINE COMPLETION
The life and mission of Jesus reflect God's commitment to finishing His work.
a) Christ Finished the Work of Redemption (John 19:30)
On the cross, Jesus declared, “It is finished”—our salvation was completed.
b) Jesus Did Only What He Saw the Father Completing (John 5:19-20)
He walked in alignment with heaven’s agenda until it was fulfilled.
c) Through Jesus, We Have Access to the Fulness of God (Colossians 2:9-10)
There is no incompleteness in Christ—we are made whole in Him.
d) The Resurrection Sealed the Work of Salvation (Romans 4:25)
He rose again to ensure that the work of redemption is complete and eternal.
Biblical Example: Jesus’ assignment on earth—He came, He lived, He died, He rose again—all according to divine completion.
4. GOD’S COMPLETION BRINGS RESTORATION AND REWARD
When God completes a thing, restoration and blessings follow.
a) God Restores What the Enemy Stole (Joel 2:25)
Completion often includes divine recovery.
b) Every Pain Has a Purpose That Ends in Glory (Romans 8:28)
God uses the process to produce something beautiful.
c) There Is a Reward for Enduring to the End (2 Timothy 4:7-8)
Those who stay faithful will receive a crown of righteousness.
d) God’s Completion Is for His Glory and Our Joy (Revelation 21:6)
“I am the Alpha and Omega… It is done!”—He brings all things to fulfilment.
Biblical Example: Job’s life—Though afflicted, God restored and completed his life with double blessings (Job 42:10-17).
CONCLUSION:
The God of Completion is at work in your life. He is not finished with you yet. What He has begun in your ministry, family, career, and spiritual journey, He will bring to perfect fulfilment. Do not lose heart or give in to discouragement—God is too faithful to fail.
Your season of unfinished dreams is ending. Step into a season of divine completion. Trust God’s process, timing, and power. He will finish what He started.
