Summary: The text offers us an image of why we should Praise God.

“God Move Us This New Year” Psalm 148

1. God move us to Praise?

• The Psalmist tells us that heavens and their host will give Praise 1-4

• Earth offers its Praise 7*9

• All of humanity offer praise verses 11-12

• The people of God praise v 14

2. So, What is it that will cause us to Praise God this New Year how about God’s Spirit

John 3:8 says, The wind blows where it chooses, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit”

• May your spirit blow in me to create a life change, empowered by the wind or breath of God

• May your spirit or presences be ever near

3. What may move us to Praise how about the community of believers

• Perhaps I will hear the word proclaimed from the pulpit the preached word will move us

• Perhaps, a life of a believer who is actually living the faith perhaps the action of a follower

• Perhaps a song I hear, Perhaps a testimony like Billy “Its good to back in the house of the Lord”

• Perhaps the encouraging words that comes from a church member

4. The Scriptures Gods Word may cause us to Praise

I’m gonna rest forever in the rock of ages,

• How I’m gonna live and sing and shout a million years,

• And hear Him say you’ve made it home,

• Here’s a crown of life to call your own, I think I’ll read it again, and let it bless my soul.

• I think I’ll read it again, and see how high I can fly,

• I think I’ll read it again, and how my feet are gonna rise, I think I’ll read it again, the mighty book of Revelation, It’s the only one that I know for certain,The only one that predicts my future, I think I’ll read it again and let it bless my soul.

5. God’s spirit, community of believers, Gods Word, and My personal willingness will cause us to offer praise.

• Are we willing to look for ways where we need changed by God?

• Are we willing to take steps toward our growth as a child of God

• Are we willing to do the hard stuff, uncomfortable stuff, the right stuff

• Are we willing to embrace attitudes and patterns (Church Attendance) (Faithfulness) that will promote growth

• Are we willing to grasp how God has moved us in the past and know God will move us in this New Year?

• Remember Born unto us is the Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Prince of Peace, Bringer of Hope, The Giver of Joy and the Example of Perfect Love
