Summary: There are a lot of people in this world who want a hand out, but there is just as many people in this world who want a hand up!!!!

Acts 3:1-10-Now Peter and John went up together to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour.

And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms from those who entered the temple; who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for alms.

And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, “Look at us.”

So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them.

Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.”

And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.

So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them—walking, leaping, and praising God.

And all the people saw him walking and praising God.

Then they knew that it was he who sat begging alms at the Beautiful Gate of the temple; and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.

Now the reason that they would sit him by the gate was to get money and the reason they knew he would receive money is that people were more likely to give going into a religious ceremony and also they knew that the Pharisees would hand a beggar money so that the crowd would see this and the Pharisees would receive the praises of men.

They also knew that people would have to step around him, maybe they have to step over him, but one thing for sure they would have give to him or they would have to ignore him to get to the temple.

How many people do we ignore, step around, step over on our way to do something religious? (I’ll pray for you and then don’t do it!) (I’ll see if our church can help you, and then don’t asked the church!)

How many people do us that way?

Verse 7-And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.

There are a lot of people in this world who want a hand out, but there is just as many people in this world who want a hand up!!!!

We all got struggles, we all got problems, but we need to make sure that when we come in here that we draw strength from one another.

It helps me, (Because I know what is going on in you life) when I hear you say, 2 Timothy 1:12-For I Know Whom I Have Believed, And Am Persuaded That He Is Able To Keep That Which I Have Committed Unto Him Against That Day.

Verse 8-So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them—walking, leaping, and praising God.

There are a lot of people who’s finances are better because God answered their prayer, but guess what, they are not leaping!

There are a lot of people who’s health is better because God answered their prayer, but guess what, they are not leaping!

There are a lot of people who’s relationships are better because God answered their prayer, but guess what, they are not leaping!

There are a lot of people who’s life is a lot better because of what God has done for them, but guess what, they are not leaping!

God Made Him Walk But He Leaped On His On!

Ever Heard The Term…Leaped For Joy!

There have been times in your life you have been flat on you back, life has knocked you down, and it has been God who lifted you up.

He didn’t lift you up so you would look good, He didn’t lift you up so you would feel good, He didn’t lift you up so you would act good!

He lifted you up so you could tell people….When I was down, He lifted me, When I was sick, He healed me, When I was lonely, He comforted me

***********************************************************************

Someone one brought him to the gate, maybe for up to 35 years they brought him to the gate.

Maybe it’s you who has to carry someone to the throne, for years and years you have prayed for them, made petitions for them, made request for them, pleaded for God’s grace on their behalf, don’t you give up, don’t you quit!!!!

Because one day they didn’t have to go back to the gate to get him, one day he came walking thru their door!

One day this crippled man was made whole!! That can happen in your situation, that person you been praying for can be made whole!
