Summary: Be reminded of three things this passage tells us God knows...

1. God the Father knows all HEARTS (vs 27)

Romans 8:27

And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will. ?

God knows the hearts of all men and women.

So that means that He is very much aware of our:

Motivations

Standing with Him

Pain

Hebrews 4:13 (NIV2011)

Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

2. God the Father knows the HOLY SPIRIT’S voice (vs 26-27)

Romans 8:26-27

And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. ?And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will. ?

Once again, we see a very important role of the Holy Spirit in our lives

Prayer Language — the real reason you speak in tongues

The Holy Spirit should be as much a part of our prayer lives as He is our church lives.

So, when we are in those situations where we just don’t know how to pray for someone or something, that is when we can pray very intensely and very effectively

Ephesians 6:18 (NIV2011)

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

3. God the Father knows His HOUSEHOLD (vs 29-30)

Romans 8:29-30? For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.  And having chosen them, he called them to come to him. And having called them, he gave them right standing with himself. And having given them right standing, he gave them his glory.

God has a number of plans for you and me:

To become like His Son

To come closer to Him

To be in right standing with Him

To receive HIs glory

Does that sound, to you, like God doesn’t know what to do with you???

Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV2011)

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

SO, SINCE WE HAVE A GRASP ON GOD KNOWING:

All of our hearts

The words of the Spirit when we pray

His plans for all of us

THEN, WE CAN EASILY MAKE THIS CLAIM…

4. We know that we have HOPE (vs 28)

Romans 8:28

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.

No matter what we are facing, He will work it out for good

It’s not about who we are. It’s about Who He is!

Psalm 27:13 (NIV2011)

I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.
