Plan for: Thanksgiving | Advent | Christmas
Encourages believers to embody patience, perseverance, and peace, trusting in God's timing, promises, and provision in all circumstances of life.
Good morning, dear friends, and welcome. It is always a joy to gather together in fellowship, united by our faith and the love of our Lord. We are going to spend the next while together, not just reading from the Bible, but truly living the words it teaches us. Today, we turn to Psalm 27:14, a scripture that speaks to the heart of every believer.
It says, "Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD."
Oh, how these words resonate within us! They echo in the chambers of our hearts, reverberating with a truth that is as constant as the rising sun. They remind us of our divine calling to patience, to perseverance, and to peace. These three 'Ps' - Patience in the Process, Perseverance in the Promise, and Peace in the Provision - are not just words, but a way of life that we are called to embody as followers of Christ.
St. Augustine once wrote, "Patience is the companion of wisdom." Indeed, patience is not simply the act of waiting, but the manner in which we wait. It is a virtue that is born out of faith, a faith that trusts in the timing and plan of the Lord.
Similarly, perseverance is not a passive acceptance of circumstances, but an active engagement with them, driven by the unshakeable belief in the promise of God. It is the grit and determination to keep going, even when the road is steep and the journey, long.
And then, there is peace. Not the fleeting peace of this world, but the enduring peace that comes from knowing that our God is the provider of all our needs. It is a peace that surpasses understanding, a peace that anchors us in the midst of life's storms.
