Summary: Having someone tag behind you all the while can be annoying and irksome; yet, they are your shield and armor from danger.

God is with you wherever you go!

Joshua 1:9”Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go."

It was my daughter’s off day and she was thrilled to spend the whole day with me! So, we settled to have some mega fun together! Breakfast was awesome with lots and lots of fun and good food, especially my daughter’s favorites were on the table – such attention does excite the kids. Well, around midday, she started receiving phone calls, so I would butt in and ask, ‘hey, who is that?’ my daughter would reply, ‘my colleague ma’, I would not stop with that, ‘What is your colleague’s name’, she would patiently answer and then I would further ask, ‘does he work in your department’, then comes a firm reply, ‘yes’. I guess I was getting on her nerves! Further, she settled down to read from her laptop, as usual I poked my nose again and asked, ‘hey what are you reading from the laptop?’ She said, ‘ma, this is a wonderful book, I’m simply enjoying this book.’ I replied, ‘I am happy you’re enjoying this book, but also spend more time reading the Bible.’ Pin drop silence! Despite all this, we were together! Around 11.30 pm, I had a busy day ahead of me and I asked my daughter, ‘come let’s go to bed’, she said, ‘ma, I’m not sleepy, I want to enjoy my day to the brim, you go’, I said ,’I’m not going without you!’ Though exasperated with me, we both giggled and went together! The Lord commanded, “…teach them (the commandments) diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.” (Deuteronomy 6:7)

Friend, when the Lord is with you wherever you go, this is how you would feel too! Motherly love can be frustrating and irksome when they interfere, instruct, train and obstruct; nevertheless, they are done to protect you from evil and destruction. Having someone tag behind you all the while can be annoying and irksome; yet, they are your shield and armor from danger. Don’t allow your children to get isolated, it is dangerous!

Mobile phones, internets, texting, social networks and plethora of other networks provide and facilitate shady relationships and many other disastrous things. Caveat! I know of a young girl who would work the whole night, come home in the wee hours of the day and start texting her boyfriend endlessly; alas, eventually the boyfriend ditched her and went away after using her completely. Mesmerized by the pleasures of evil, many fail to foresee the calamity that lay ahead! If she had allowed Jesus to be with her wherever she went, her life would have been safe and clean. Jesus had promised: Psalm 91:3”..He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler..” If you need this protection, there is something that you need to do though, ‘come into His Shelter!’

Do not despise correction and advice, be humble and receive it, surely, God would bless you for your obedience. God sends His Servants with His Word, hence we got to listen and obey.
