God Is Not Silent Series

Summary: At times we feel that God is silent. Looks like God is not in response to any of our prayers. It seems to be like God has been silent. What are we supposed to do in that situation?
Jesus went into a boat with His disciples and He said unto them, "Let us go over unto the other side of the lake"
Jesus foreknew about the wind and the storm in the middle of their journey but yet He has determined to take His disciples to the other side, to teach them something with this expected situation.
1. It was not a surprise to Jesus:
- Jesus is God who knew the end from the beginning. Nothing is a surprise to Him. Even the things that are happening around the globe these days are not a surprise to God at all.
2. Test of Faith:
- He was not in a position to sleep in the boat . Jesus was sleeping in the boat in the midst of a big chaos. I don't think that He was really could able to sleep in that horrific situation where they wind and the storm was so loud and the water was gushing into the boat and the disciples were screaming at the danger of death.
I believe that Jesus was waiting to see that His disciples would use faith or at least Trust God by relying on Him.
That's the reason Jesus said, in the next point....
Jesus said, where is your faith? - He did not say why didn't you wake me up? - Which clearly shows that Jesus was testing their faith while He was lying in the boat.
We often been tested in our faith.
3. Trust Him instead of being worried.
- Jesus was expecting His disciples to Trust Him, in the time of worry. But they have failed to trust Jesus and worried so much as if they were dying in the next moment - which is the meaning of "Jeopardy".
We need to Trust God in the time of life threatening experience and in the time of darkness around us or at the very confused state of life.
4. Jesus has shown up, when they finally looked unto Him:
- That's His love and mercy on us that He will not leave us in spite of all the corrections He makes in our lives, He will surely shows up in the time of need. He wants us to grow in our faith and act upon our faith. But when we fail to use our faith, we can still cling to Him and say Lord, I'm sorry, I do not know how to have faith in this situation, I don't know what to pray and I really do not know how to deal with this situation, but I simply rely on you. Please help me! He will surely show up and intervene in your darkest situation.
This leads to the next point....
5. His Presence and His Power:
- When we cling to God and rely on Him, we will experience His presence and His power in our very horrific situation.
I had this experience personally when I was effected with Covid - 19 in April 2021, I was like the disciples, worried of my life and my family, but God has taught me to Trust Him at that very time of darkest situation in my life.
Glory to God, I have experienced His mercies and by His grace He has healed me completely without having to get into any complications. His love and mercy abounds, not because of who and what I am but only because of His love towards me.
The same with everyone. He will never leave you nor forsake you! Trust Him!
Amen!
