III. OBJECTIVES:

To show that GOD is Faithful and enumerate His Divine Abilities.

IV. TEXT:

1 Thessalonians 5:24 (Amplified Bible)

Faithful is He Who is calling you [to Himself] and utterly trustworthy, and He will also do it [fulfill His call by hallowing and keeping you].

V. THESIS:

Only GOD is Faithful.

VI. TITLE:

GOD is Faithful

VII. EXPLICATION:

A. Author: Apostle Paul

B. Date written: 49 to 54 B.C. but uncertain

C. Purpose: to comfort believers and encourage them to a life of purity

D. To whom written: Thessalonica church

E. Main themes: Most personal of all of Paul's epistles

F. Keyword: Sanctification

1 Thessalonians 4:3 (Amplified Bible)

For this is the will of God, that you should be consecrated (separated and set apart for pure and holy living): that you should abstain and shrink from all sexual vice,

G. Key verses:

1 Thessalonians 3:12-13 (Amplified Bible)

And may the Lord make you to increase and excel and overflow in love for one another and for all people, just as we also do for you,

So that He may strengthen and confirm and establish your hearts faultlessly pure and unblamable in holiness in the sight of our God and Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah) with all His saints (the holy and glorified people of God)! Amen, (so be it)!

1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 (Amplified Bible)

For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a loud cry of summons, with the shout of an archangel, and with the blast of the trumpet of God. And those who have departed this life in Christ will rise first.

Then we, the living ones who remain [on the earth], shall simultaneously be caught up along with [the resurrected dead] in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and so always (through the eternity of the eternities) we shall be with the Lord!

Therefore comfort and encourage one another with these words.

VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. GOD who called us is Faithful

"Faithful is He Who is calling you [to Himself] and utterly trustworthy,"

2 Thessalonians 3:3 (Amplified Bible)

Yet the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen [you] and set you on a firm foundation and guard you from the evil [one].

2 Timothy 2:13 (Amplified Bible)

If we are faithless [do not believe and are untrue to Him], He remains true (faithful to His Word and His righteous character), for He cannot deny Himself.

Hebrews 2:17 (Amplified Bible)

So it is evident that it was essential that He be made like His brethren in every respect, in order that He might become a merciful (sympathetic) and faithful High Priest in the things related to God, to make atonement and propitiation for the people’s sins.

We can count on Him entirely with our whole being: spirit, soul and body for He is "utterly" trustworthy. No one comes second or no one comes close to His Faithfulness, others are reliable, only GOD is Faithful. If any man will say he/she is faithful, then he is a liar.

Romans 3:4 (Amplified Bible)

By no means! Let God be found true though every human being is false and a liar, as it is written, That You may be justified and shown to be upright in what You say, and prevail when You are judged [by sinful men].

Psalms 51:4 (Amplified Bible)

Against You, You only, have I sinned and done that which is evil in Your sight, so that You are justified in Your sentence and faultless in Your judgment.

B. GOD Himself will do it

"and He will also do it [fulfill His call by hallowing and keeping you]"

2 Corinthians 9:8 (Amplified Bible)

And God is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need be self-sufficient [possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation].

2 Corinthians 8:9 (Amplified Bible)

For you are becoming progressively acquainted with and recognizing more strongly and clearly the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ (His kindness, His gracious generosity, His undeserved favor and spiritual blessing), [in] that though He was [so very] rich, yet for your sakes He became [so very] poor, in order that by His poverty you might become enriched (abundantly supplied).

His Grace works for us, only He can work, no man can work, he toils and yet no results for GOD is not with Him. Only the LORD JESUS CHRIST can super abound His Grace, mercy to all of us.

1. GOD's Divine Abilities: A short-listed Divine abilities of GOD that makes Him infinitely different from mankind.
