God Is An Expert

"I am the LORD, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for Me?" (Jer. 32:27).

Introduction

This idea came to me one day while flipping through the television stations. On nearly every channel, there is a talk show or someone being interviewed in reference to being an expert on some particular subject. The same thing applies online; everyone has a blog or a website with an answer to your problems.Observing these experts and listening to them impart their wisdom or revelations made me think of God.

When we are broken or have trouble in a particular area, why are we looking to other people for answers when we know God is the Expert of our being. Imagine how God feels when we seek advice elsewhere. How would you feel if your child went to a neighbor who didn't know him or her as well and asked for advice instead of asking you? That would hurt. We should not be behaving as teenagers, sharing our problems with friends or neighbors. We should seek expert advice from our Father.

I. God Is in the Business of Fixing

"The Lord God said it is not good for man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him" (Gen. 2:18). God saw that Adam was lonely, and He responded. He fixed Adam's problem of loneliness by providing a helpmate or in today's terminology, a wife. So if you're lonely, you don't have to go surfing online, going on Facebook, Match.com or paying an expert. Just ask God to do what He did for Adam. Ask Him to reveal your helpmate. Remind God of what He said: It is not good for man to be alone. Remember this verse: "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you" (Matt. 6:33). I repeat, before going to find an expert or a dot com article to solve your problem, seek God.

Jeremiah 32:27 says, "I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for Me?" Think about what God is saying here. He is God of all creation. Do you think there is something in your life too hard for Him to fix? Your answer should be no. The next time you are faced with one of life's tough issues, imagine God asking you: "Is there anything to hard for Me?" Please don't tell Him yes or doubt Him. If you do, know that your lack of faith will be the reason He doesn't fix your issue. Even if you have some doubt, keep telling yourself there is nothing to hard for God. Tell yourself until it is implanted in your mind, and you find yourself repeating it as a song stuck in your head.

II. God Can Fix Your Problems Through You

"Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abudantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us" (Eph. 3:20), meaning He is able to fix things we cannot imagine Him fixing; and He is able to work through us to achieve the miraculous. Therefore, when you think about your broken marriage that you feel is beyond repair, remember God can fix it, though you can't comprehend it. When He fixes your marriage, He is going to use you as the vessel to fix it. If you want God to fix your marriage, ask God what you need to do. Now, some people have a problem with working, taking instruction or God using them to solve their problems. However, if you want to see God do anything in your life, you must be obedient and seek His direction. If you look at your Bible, going back as far as Moses, God gave instructions or assignments to do in order to fix people's problems. The purpose of God making you put forth some effort is that He wants you to remember the process and appreciate what you been through. Just as your parents during your childhood, God is not in the business of spoiling His kids. If we want something from God, there are things we must do before He will reward us.

III. Remember His Resume and What He Already Has Done

"The Lord hath done great things for us, of which we are glad" (Ps. 126:3). When faced with trials and mountains that appear unmoveable, think back to what God already has done for you. If he brought Lazerous back from the dead (John 11), know that He can bring your troubled son or daughter back to the right state of mind. Know that if He can make a blind man see (John 9), He certainly can open the eyes of your lost family members. Encourage yourself by remembering His resume and what He already has done. If you can't recall what He has done in your life, pick up the Bible—the biography of what He has done—and still is able to do.
