Acts 17:16-34 God hath appointed a day
30 but now commandeth all men every where to repent: 31 because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained;
I. It's Certainty - 31 because he hath appointed a day
A Divine Appointment - he (God) hath appointed
A Definite Appointment - hath appointed
A Determined Appointment - appointed a day
It's Time, It's Test, It's Truth, and It's Testimony.
31 in the which he will judge the world in righteousness
It's Denied, Decried, Disdained, & Discredited.
They mocked in Noah's Day, Lot's Day, Jeremiah's Day, Christ's Day,
and Ours.
2. It's Clarity - 31 whereof he hath given assurance unto all men,
in that he hath raised him from the dead.
The Fount of the Resurrection - he (God) hath raised him
The Fact of the Resurrection - hath raised
The Fruit of the Resurrection - him from the dead.
Death could not keep it's prey, Jesus my Saviour,
he tore the bars away Jesus my Lord.
The Force of the Resurrection -
whereof he hath given assurance unto all men,
The Focus of the Resurrection - 31 because he hath appointed a day,
in the which he will judge the world in righteousness
The resurrection of Jesus Christ guarantees a coming judgment day
3. It's Community - 31 in the which he will judge the world
The Day - The Deliberation - judge The Diligence - in righteousness
4. It's Capacity - he will judge the world in righteousness -
Their -
i. Works - 2 Cor 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
ii. Will - Rom 2:16 in the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.
iii. Words - Matt 12:36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. 37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
iv. Witness - John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

5. It's Centrality - 31 by that Man whom He hath ordained;
6. It's Calamity - 31 whereof he hath given assurance unto all men,
Their Entity - all men, Entreaty - given assurance, and Their Eternity
They will be either eternal life, joy, glory, and peace. or eternal death, darkness, despair and shame.
7. It's Culpability - 30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at;
but now commandeth all men every where to repent:
The OBLIGATION in Repentance - commandeth all men every where
The OBSERVATION in Repentance - to repent:
CONVICTION - A Knowledge of Sin.
CONTRITION - A Sorrow for Sin.
CONVERSION - A Forsaking of Sin
The OBSTRUCTION in Repentance - but now commandeth
Oh, come sinner come! Oh, why do you delay?
The pressing invitation is that you should come today,
Tomorrow has no promise that it can give to you,
Tomorrow is eternity, just hidden from your view.
Then come, sinner, come! Salvation’s free for all;
It may be the last time you’ll ever hear the call;
