Summary: GOD expects us TO WORK HARD

GOD hates LAZINESS. Let’s BE DELIGENT.

# WHO is a Diligent person?

A DILIGENT person is …

Someone who is responsible and works hard and carefully...

Someone who performs with intense concentration and focus…

Someone who takes his/her work seriously and who does it well and rapidly…

# GOD expects us TO WORK HARD

Genesis 2:15

The Lord God took the man and placed him in the Garden of Eden

so that he might work the ground and care for it.

# Lesson from the ANT

Proverbs 6:6-11 (NIRV)

You people who don’t want to work, think about the ant!

Consider its ways and be wise!

It has no commander. It has no leader or ruler.

But it stores up its food in summer. It gathers its food at harvest time.

You lazy people, how long will you lie there?

When will you get up from your sleep?

You might sleep a little or take a little nap.

You might even fold your hands and rest.

Then you would be poor, as if someone had robbed you.

You would have little, as if someone had stolen from you.

# DILIGENCE brings BLESSINGS but LAZINESS brings CURSE

Proverbs 10:4,5

Hands that don’t want to work make you poor.

But hands that work hard bring wealth to you.

A child who gathers crops in summer is wise.

But a child who sleeps at harvest time brings shame.

Proverbs 12:24

Hands that work hard will rule.

But people who are lazy will be forced to work.

# DILIGENCE brings PROSPERITY but LAZINESS brings POVERTY

Proverbs 13:4

People who refuse to work want things and get nothing.

But the desires of people who work hard are completely satisfied.

Proverbs 21:5

The plans of a hard-working person lead to prosperity,

but everyone who is always in a hurry ends up in poverty.

Proverbs 22:29

The way of the sluggard is blocked with thorns,

but the path of the upright is a highway.

# DILIGENCE = WORKING HARD and LAZINESS = WASTING TIME

Proverbs 28:19

Work hard, and you will have a lot of food;

waste time, and you will have a lot of trouble.

Proverbs 20:4

The lazy man does not plow when the winter [planting] season arrives;

So, he begs at the [next] harvest and has nothing [to reap].

Proverbs 20:13

If you spend your time sleeping, you will be poor.

Keep busy and you will have plenty to eat.

# Read GOD’s WORD to be DILIGENT

John 5:39

You study the Scriptures diligently

because you think that in them you have eternal life.

2 Timothy 2:15

Be diligent to present yourself to God as one approved,

a worker who doesn’t need to be ashamed,

correctly teaching the word of truth.
