H. Key verse:
Ecclesiastes 12:13 (Amplified Bible)
12:13 All has been heard; the end of the matter is: Fear God [revere and worship Him, knowing that He is] and keep His commandments, for this is the whole of man [the full, original purpose of his creation, the object of God’s providence, the root of character, the foundation of all happiness, the adjustment to all inharmonious circumstances and conditions under the sun] and the whole [duty] for every man.
Worldly wisdom will let you believe a lie, so the issue is not wisdom or foolishness, the issue is being a spiritual man.
1 Corinthians 2:15 (Amplified Bible)
2:15 But the spiritual man tries all things [he examines, investigates, inquires into, questions, and discerns all things], yet is himself to be put on trial and judged by no one [he can read the meaning of everything, but no one can properly discern or appraise or get an insight into him].
The issue with King Solomon is he has no relationship with GOD while his father King David has a relationship with GOD, that's why King David is called "a man after His own heart". We are men and women after GOD's own heart because we accepted the LORD as LORD and SAVIOR.
1 Samuel 13:14 (Amplified Bible)
13:14 But now your kingdom shall not continue; the Lord has sought out [David] a man after His own heart, and the Lord has commanded him to be prince and ruler over His people, because you have not kept what the Lord commanded you.
VIII. MAIN BODY:
A. GOD gives everything good and perfect
"A man to whom God has given riches, possessions, and honor, so that he lacks nothing for his soul of all that he might desire, yet God does not give him the power or capacity to enjoy them [things which are gifts from God],"
James 1:17 (Amplified Bible)
1:17 Every good gift and every perfect (free, large, full) gift is from above; it comes down from the Father of all [that gives] light, in [the shining of] Whom there can be no variation [rising or setting] or shadow cast by His turning [as in an eclipse].
Ecclesiastes 5:19 (Amplified Bible)
5:19 Also, every man to whom God has given riches and possessions, and the power to enjoy them and to accept his appointed lot and to rejoice in his toil—this is the gift of God [to him].
B. GOD transfers wealth of the wicked to the righteous
"but a stranger [in whom he has no interest succeeds him and] consumes and enjoys them. This is vanity (emptiness, falsity, and futility); it is a sore affliction! "
Proverbs 13:22 (Amplified Bible)
13:22 A good man leaves an inheritance [of moral stability and goodness] to his children’s children, and the wealth of the sinner [finds its way eventually] into the hands of the righteous, for whom it was laid up.
Proverbs 10:22 (Amplified Bible)
10:22 The blessing of the Lord—it makes [truly] rich, and He adds no sorrow with it [neither does toiling increase it].
Working hard is part of sorrow in this world because it's part of the fall of man.
Genesis 3:19 (Amplified Bible)
3:19 In the sweat of your face shall you eat bread until you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you shall return.
We no longer have to work for it, for GOD has already given us wealth like a gift and He's the One we must remember.
