"God Does Give Us More Than We Can Handle"

Summary: God loves us enough to give us more than we can handle so we finally call out to Him.
Lifting weights is an interesting trial for the body. I say trial because lifting weights is a lot like our walk with Jesus. If I was to start out doing 10 repetitions of 10 lbs for 1 set I could be sore the next day. But God made our bodies to be very adaptable. If we can exercise and increase by small amounts on a consistent basis over time we will be amazed at what our body can do. Within only about 3 weeks you could probably be doing 10 reps of 15 lbs for 3 sets. That is the good news. The bad news is if you take 2 weeks off you need to start from the beginning again.
In order to get stronger you need to keep increasing the weight or increasing the repitions. You can’t stay at the same intensity and gain strength. Trials in your life are a lot like lifting weights. Sometimes our trials will start out small but if they keep that way we would not appreciate the grace of Jesus. Over time God allows more weight to be piled on so we can not only grow in our faith but if makes us dependant on God. In lifting weights the heaver you get the more you are in need of a spotter. That spotter is there to help you if you cannot get the weight back to the safety of the stand.
I hear people all the time tell me “God will never give you more than you can handle”. That is not true. The only verse that comes close to this in the BIBLE is about temptation.
1 Corinthians 10:13 “No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.”
Listen to be very carefully God does give us more than we can handle. God does that so we can finally get down on our knees, throw our hands up and surrender. God loves us enough to allow us to suffer trials of many kinds so we turn to Him instead of the prince of this world. That is why riches can be deceiving. Sometimes riches can lull us into a false sense of security. We can make a lot of trials in our life go away with money at least for a time. But that is false hope and sometimes after we get money that reality is now scarier than the false illusion money created.
1 Peter 4:12 “Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.
You have helped in our finances in many ways. We have gone from 38% of budget to over 60% of budget. I have received such heart warming e mails, phone calls and cards to keep on keepin on. The Lord Jesus has used YOU to help us stand. The more we realize how weak we are the more we know we need a Savior. I pray today that you see your need for Jesus also. When trials come don’t get mad at God as I have done in the past. Look at it as God desires you to get to know Him. Knowing him comes with trials and sufferings. So when the weight starts to get piled on rejoice that God desires for you to get stronger. If left to ourselves we wouldn’t work out at all in our faith. But God in His mercy is calling you today to repentance and a relationship with Him. Yes God will give you more than you can handle so you can finally see your only need in this world is for the One who created you. Look upward today and you will see Him. Look at the pain in your co workers and families eyes and you wills see Him. Feel the pain of a burden that cannot be lifted and you will see Him.
Amen to One who loves you ad I more than we could every fathom. Do you know Him? If not please click on
