God Comes For Habitation, Not Visitation
Contributed by Samuel M on Apr 3, 2025 (message contributor)
Summary: God comes to stay, not to visit and leave. Today, if you want an encounter with God, always remember that God comes to stay, not just to visit. When you pray for God to come, pray and prepare your heart so that when He comes, He can stay for a long time.
When God comes, He does not come to visit, but He comes stay. He comes to live, dwell and stay with us forever. He is not an outsider who comes to visit; rather, He is the head of a family who comes to take His rightful place (in the family) and stay with us. He does not come to visit and then leave; He comes to stay forever. He wants to make us His permanent habitation, not visitation. He wants to make us His permanent residence and dwelling.
Sometimes, God does not come to us until we have prepared a place for him to stay with us. There is a delay for him to come because He is waiting for the place (in our heart) to be prepared for His habitation or dwelling. He might be knocking on the door of our hearts, and if we open them, He will come to stay with us forever.
Sometimes when He comes to us, He does not want to leave, but we, with or without knowledge(or awareness) make him leave. We are only prepared for visitation, but not for habitation. Most of us want God to come and visit us, but not to live or stay with us. We seek God's visitation, not his habitation or dwelling. We with or without our knowledge make him leave. In such scenarios we need to repent and ask God’s forgiveness.
God comes to stay, not to visit and leave. Today, if you want an encounter with God, always remember that God comes to stay, not just to visit. When you pray for God to come, pray and prepare your heart so that when He comes, He can stay for a long time. He comes to stay forever, and you prepare a place for him to dwell forever. He does not want to leave after an encounter.
God comes to be with you forever, not to visit you. God comes for habitation and not for visitation. Visitation is for friends and relatives, but for family members its habitation. Friends and relatives like visits, whereas family members prefer to live together. Christ is the head of your family, and He comes to be a part of your family and stay with you forever.
